A wonderful professor, engaging and enthusiastic. I wish I could have continued taking classes with her after graduation! But, be aware, you really have to love learning languages to get a high grade. She's very helpful and will absolutely give you extra help if you need it, but you have to work for your grade. AN AMAZING TEACHER! :))

Very nice professor. Makes japanese very easy and gives cultural background to the things she teaches. Ask questions, she's hillarious when she explains some odd things in Japan. Offers lots of help sessions and does lots of short projects (like having lunch with the japanese students) to keep class fun. Recommended!

Had Japanese 1,2&3 in 1994-97. Excellent classes that opened up new world to me (showa programs,etc)Furukawa is excellent and caring teacher--really great!

Comment:

Furukawa-sensei is very demanding in this class (as opposed to the *much* easier JP 100 & 200 levels) but she is very clear given that she's not teaching in English, and she's always very helpful to her students. She's also a wonderful, likable lady.

Comment:

Sensei is a very cute teacher who loves teaching and loves her students. She wants to see her students improve and she is very good at what she does. I would reccomend taking Japanese over any other language offered here because of this Professor.
