Really bad professor. Not helpful at all when you don't understand the material. The way he lectures only makes sense to him. He is all over the place. Attendance is not mandatory. Take good notes and be prepared to study a lot.

The grading in this class is based on four tests only. If you go to class and take notes and study them, then you will pass every test and the final. This is not an easy class to pass, but it is possible. Work for your grade and you will succeed. The lectures are full of information and you will learn a lot, so skipping will only hurt your grade.

He is the worst econ professor. Impossible to understand. Only grades tests. Do yourself a favor and do not take him.

Profesor Devine is one odd dude. He shows up every day with a new fun tie. He'll yell at you for yawning in class. He is a little scatterbrained and his lectures show that. The grade is based on four exams and nothing else. Most people hate him because of his grading system but just read his textbook and you'll do fine on the exams.

Grade will consist of three tests, and very difficult tests. He is a really great person, but his lectures can get confusing, and his handwriting is a bit unclear at times. He lectures until the end of the class, but office hours might be your best choice if something doesnt make sense. Either that or read the book.

Nice guy, but probably the worst educator I have ever had. Ever. Utterly terrible teaching, it is really sad LMU has a teacher like this. It was such a poor taught class it gets to the point it is not even frustrating but extremely sad. It made me want to transfer. Very, very horrible awful counterproductive class.

He's a good guy, I'm sure he means well. But do yourself the favor and avoid at all costs. Even people who are good at Econ didn't understand the class. No way to study for the tests, I still have no idea where he gets his test material from. Just don't do it.

Your grade is based off test only. Prof Devine lectures the whole class. Tests are pretty difficult and its hard to get a high grade. However, he grades on a curve to work in your favor. Prepare to study. No extra credit.

His lectures are pretty confusing, but if you go into his office hours or make an appointment to meet with him then he's actually pretty helpful. Best way to study is by doing the practice tests.

Not a bad guy at all, in fact I like him. I however hate Macroeconomics which makes Intermediate Macroeconomics a little harder. The material was confusing and I didn't think he was particularly good at explaining it.

Best teacher Ive ever taken. Took his class 3 semesters in a row (120,322,320). Very clear on his expectations and one of the smartest professors in the Econ department. It's not an easy class and you have to put in a lot of effort to understand all of the information. But I worked hard all 3 times and received and A in each class, so its doable.

He's a very odd guy, but sort of hilarious. His tests are hard, but he curves pretty well. Even though he curves generously, I still ended up with Bs on most tests. Homework is once a week usually, a problem set that isn't even graded. Overall he's a good professor if you can withstand his long lectures.

I loved Dr. Devine's class. He is a hard grader but he definitely helps you learn what Microeconomics is all about. I ended up with a B but I learned everything without having to really read the textbook. The free responses of the exams (math problems) are easy but the multiple choices are extremely difficult (he gives you options all the way to F)

All of the tests have a curve - some over 10 points. Do the study sheets for exams and its really an easy A. His lectures are fine, but it is a good idea to use the book a bit before tests. He is a nice guy and this class is not as bad as most are making it out to be. He curves your final grade for the course if suck up and go to class regularly.
