He's awesome. He is very supportive of students and takes the time to go over the lecture material with you. He takes the pressure off you in terms of taking exams as well as with study guides. He encourages the students learning style and really wants you to pass. As a student, come to class and stay engaged and you will pass the course.

Dr. Tait is a great passionate professor. He really loves the environment and the ocean, and if you pay attention and throw your two cents you will pass the class with flying colors. The exams are easy if you put a little bit of work into them. He doesn't return them quickly but will ask you if they were fair or not.

Dr. Tait was a really nice guy. Unless you're really interested in environmental, the lectures are pretty boring. There are not many tests, but there are group projects which are pretty easy and clear cut. I recommend this!

Very cool guy but does not stay on top of grading and handing back assignments. You'll never know your grades. Very boring lectures and he will repeat himself many times but it is an easy class. He will give you the tests ahead of time to study. 3 very easy group powerpoint presentstions. take his class.

He is the definition of the word "chill." Pay attention, participate, ask questions: if he knows you're interested (or appear to be) he will help you with anything, ANYTHING. In the world. He's also one of my favorite people ever.

Really nice professor. Sometimes goes off on a tangent with stories, but they're not too bad to listen too. Not a lot of exams, which can make raising a bad grade hard. Gives opportunities for extra credit though. Would recommend taking, but make sure you study hard for exams!

the most amazing and chill professor ever. he is the human version of Big Z in the movie surfs up with the penguins, his lectures can be boreing at times but he is exremly funny. hes just a really chill guy who dresses up as if he just woke up and walked from the beach cause hes always a few minutes late and you always get out of class early

HARD teacher. Stands there and lectures the entire time. NO help at all in office hours he just repeats what he says in class. Moves VERY fast pace. doesnt give any homework just 3 tests so its impossible to get your grade up if your doing badly. I liked env. science until i took this class with him. his tests are IMPOSSIBLE. do NOT take his class!

Tait is amazing! we had to write intense papers and he was extrememly helpful! all you have to do is ask and he'll help you figure out how to go about doing something or what your paper is missing, etc... he's also very knowledgeable in his field and extremely funny and down-to earth. i'd definitely recommend taking ANY class with him!

Very nice, very low-key. He is not adversarial about his expectations the way many professors are. It was the most relaxed lecture class I've ever heard of. Manages to be easy without really watering down (small joke) the curriculum.

awsome surfer dude, clearly loves teaching, science, and students. tests are a little hard - i got a C on all of them, but I ended up with a B in the class. Easy. Why take something hard and boring like regular Bio when you can have fun and joke around with Prof. Tait?!

by far, one of my absolute favorites at soco. he is really eccentric and gets really into the class- and gets to know every student despite the fact that there were 50 of us. the workload was tolerable and he made everything really clear and interesting. becomes more of a friend than a prof... love him!

the lab is too hard- lots of math. the class is kindof hard but hes got lots of extra credit. youre going to have to study- thats why its hard. so its not really hard, just tedious. however theres some cool field trips and the class is fun. hes an old surfer guy who has some cool stories and a sarcastic sense of humor.
