I don't know why she has such a high rating. There is at least double the amount of work then other online class I have ever taken. The work load included 3 chapters or reading a week, 6 papers due and discussion boards along with exams. The work, lectures, and paper info are only available for 1 week. Limited communication, and unclear due dates.

I took the 8 week online child development class and enjoyed it. I've taken one online class prior to this one and found this class to be so legit. If you do everything and stay up on the reading and understanding of the material, you will do great. Easy A if you do the work.

i took this class online. it was my first online class and it made the whole online think seem soooo easy. Discussion boards are once a week and they are fairly easy.

I checked this teacher out on rate my prof before I signed up for her class. I'm hugely disappointed. Hasn't responded to my e-mail for 2 weeks now. Doesn't post any announcements. Under assignments are only lectures. I have to double back to the syllabus to see what i should read. Finally the discussion board seems to have its own thing going on!

I took this 6 week class online which everyone said not to do for child development but i really enjoyed it. I figured it would be hard to not participate in an actual class but she gives you all the resources you need to grasp the concepts. You learn a lot from the other students through all the discussion boards required. I got a 95% easily.

Best teacher!! She is so nice and understanding. I took her online class along with 3 others and she was the best one! I had a problem with my mid term and she let me take it over again. I strongly suggest taking this class she is by far my favorite teacher so far :)

Professor Shaphard is an outstanding teacher. If you do the work weekly as it is outlined on the BlackBoard every week and follow her instructions, you are guaranteed an "A". She is very kind and caring and responds to emails, phone calls and messages very quickly. She is the best professor I have ever had at a community college. "AAA" ratings.

In all of my years of being a student, I have not come across a teacher like this. By far, the BEST teacher I have ever had. Grades EXTREMELY easy, and is very understanding. Didnt study, just looked over her study guide. finished the class with a 99%. Shes amazing!

Great teacher and class! I had to take this for my major, and I am glad I picked this teacher. I was pulling 11 units at the time and working full time and still got an "A". You do have to do the work, but just make a couple of hours on one day, and you will also get an "A". Great class and you learn a lot!

If you participate in this class you will do well. You need to respond with well thought out answers. You don't have to agree with everything but you need to participate.
