Prof. J is literally the coolest guy you will ever meet! He is a riot! His whole class is structured like a tv show, and his class is extremely engaging! If you win a starbucks lottery you have to go! He has a Movie club on campus that is basically the best thing in existence. Best Prof ever! I wish I could take his class every semester!

Phenomenal teacher! Makes history fun and alive! He makes you work for the grade but not overbearing. Homework is almost nothing. He is great, wish more teachers had his love and kindness for their students.

Comment:

Professor Jensen' on-campus students seem to love him, but as one of his online students, I could not stand him. He was dry and boring in his extremely long lectures, and I ended up just using the notes he provided and skipping the lectures, because it the lectures said what was in the notes. The class was good, Prof. Jensen was just very dull.

Jensen tries to make it interesting and succeeds. He is always looking to improve. He knows everyone's name. He does a random lottery to drink coffee with students. He is always available. Probably the one professor most people would recognize. His tests are VERY comprehensive, so do prepare.

Comment:

Jensen was a solid teacher. He makes you work hard for your grade, if you want a good one, but he is also just a really caring and compassionate dude. I can't stand history, so this class kinda sucked, but I also learned a lot, so that's a plus.

Comment:

Up there with the top 3 classes I took. Teaching is fun, relevant, and you remember what you learn. Jensen is a great teacher! I was excited to come to class. Jensen loves the subjects he teaches and his passion shows. Just study the notes, pay attention to detail, and finally, take the class for a once in a lifetime experience. You wont be sorry.

Firstly, let it be known that I hate history and reading. Prof J is the only teacher who has ever been able to make history interesting and understandable. I got a "b" because I underestimated how necessary it is to memorize the note packet. Memorize it! After every class memorize everything that isn't a gen read, do the hw, go to class = easy "a"

I cannot express how much I enjoyed Prof J's class. I learned so much. He does challenge you but in a good way. I personally didn't think his tests were hard unless you don't study but he gives you all the material you need and added assistance so really there is no excuse. I also enjoyed his mannerisms and his love for his students. Favorite prof!

Great teacher who challenges you to the fullest. He truly cares about his students and isnt teaching just to receive a paycheck. Do not take this class if your looking to slack off. You will fail!

Prof Jensen is THE COOLEST history professor ever. He makes history interesting. He gives you an amazing notepacket to study & is always available to help (he gives you his cell # and encourages you to text him if you have any questions.) BE WARNED: HIS TESTS ARE REALLY HARD! but you can make up for it other places. (I got a B despite 2 'D' tests.)

Prof J. is an outstanding Christian and a crystal clear teacher. I have great respect for the structure and clarity he presents history with. Sometimes he over explains things...but his class is a must take!

Comment:

Prof Jensen's class is a discussion-style class rather than lecture. He makes content accessible and interesting. Tests are difficult- If you don't memorize well I don't recommend this class. However, if you are looking for a class that makes History interesting, this is the class for you.

I really like this class. His tests aren't easy- you really have to know the material- but he tells you exactly what he is going to put in the tests, you just need to study. I like the fact that he really cares about the students, and he gives current news stories every class and how they relate to us as students.

Oops, I got cut off in my last post! The rest of it read: "WH is one of the most important classes you can take at TMC, especially as a freshman - you may not realize it then, but the insight Jensen gives into living the Christian life, and living at Master's, is more valuable than much of what you'll get in Bible classes. Take it from a Senior :)

The most overrated professor at TMC. He routinely wastes a third of the class going over unnecessary minutia and treats his students as if they were in jr. high. His lectures are very shallow, and it's easy to see he doesn't know history well. He also frequently preaches, which is unnecessary and is not his job. Tests, quizzes, and project are easy

Prof J is the best. Even if you can CLEP out of this class, don't. He makes History a fun subject. This is one professor that you simply HAVE to take if you come to TMC.
