Gives a ton of online homework, including homework for lab. Takes points off if reports aren't done before lab, though he never has lab ready. Lab normally lasts a very long time because he lectures before letting us start the procedure. Also very picky about lab reports and takes points off everyone's grade for a mess made by one person in lab.

I love Dr. Voska. He gave us all his lectures before class. Moreover, he gave us feedback quickly. I love his teaching methods. Super easy professor, but I recommend to take Dr. Roberts for chemistry lab because she accepts students to submit lab reports late. I've A with 97% in overall and 110% in the final. He has extra credit to improve grades.

He gives a quiz at the beginning of each lecture. He assigns a ton of online homework, including over homework over material he hasn't taught yet. He moves quickly through lectures and doesn't cover anything very thoroughly. He isn't specific about what will be on exams or provide any kind of study guide. For me, his class was more self-taught.

He taught the class nothing. Multiple times during lecture he would write something on the board only to erase it 5 minutes later because it was wrong. He constantly graded our tests wrong and had to regrade them. He really does know chemistry, but his teaching skills need to be improved on.

Do not take this class. Voska does not explain anything. I made an A but I had to teach myself. He just talks the whole time. When you need help he says he will help it's pointless to go to him because you still won't understand anything. You will regret taking him

Dr. Voska is a smart man, but his teaching methods are all over the place. I'm a good student, I've done the homework and I continue to receive a B in his class, so of course I'm unsatisfied. He is one to throw a few curve balls but he usually warns you about specifics. I think I would have done better in the class had it been better structured.

Dr. Voska is a great teacher, but teaches a difficult/uninteresting subject. As long as you do the book homework he assigns, you will do good in the class. Each time I asked questions he was more than willing to help. I do not understand why so many people have an issue with him. Overall, I would rate him as an excellent teacher!

Voska grades organic lab write ups very strictly. He isn't very helpful when it comes to answering questions. He always has to be right. I do like that all his tests are the same concept but his grading is very strict on them. He doesn't give as much online homework as other teachers. The test average is usually a 75%

worst experience. I am a nursing major who loves chemistry, but this was awful. I went to his office for help and he wouldn't answer my questions. Not helpful at all. Very quirky. He understands the subject but not helpful when it comes to students. would never take another class from him.

I don't understand what everyone is complaining about. Voska is not a bad teacher, chemistry is just very hard for some people. He gives quizzes that are word for word questions from homework (so if you did your homework there is no reason to miss them). His study guides have everything that will be on the test also. And he is a nice grader as far as college professors go.If you get the answer wrong, he will look at your work to give points for doing the right steps. HE isn't hard, the class is.

Does not care about students. Has immense control issues. Spends a ton of time on a few concepts that are not on the test and puts things on the test that he said would not be Brilliant man who does clearly understand everything about chemistry. But a poor educator with essentially no desire to help students

Dr. Voska is very knowledgable about chemistry. I get the impression that he works very hard to find better ways to teach his subject. He all but begs his students to come into his office if they need help. On exams he grades you based on your knowlege of the subject, not just whether you got the right answer. Also he kinda looks like an Ewok.

Up until Voska I had enjoyed chemistry, He was a complete jerk, if you had a question good luck, he doesnt have time for students unless you are a chemistry major. You are better off having one of the tutors teach you chemistry at least they are helpful.

Sticks to this syllabus and will not deviate at any cost. That means if you have questions too bad go see the tutor. Every day new material is crammed down your throat at break neck pace and you are not allowed to enjoy or expand on any topics covered. There is a perpetual cycle of confusion you will learn nothing and be completely frustrated.

Does not know how to teach. Completely disorganized. If you come into class with zero knowledge of the subject, you will fail. Does not matter if you attend EVERY class and lab and do homework. If you just graduated high school and took Chem and did well you most likely will do OK in his class if not then run and take somewhere else.

On multiple occassions he wastes 15min of class talking about irrelevant info. He is 'too busy' to help with homework. When u ask for help he looks at u like ur stupid. The other day he said the answer was, "b/c it just is."

Very knowledgeable. Great stories about the practical applications of chemistry (Ask about the chili pepper or chinook winds). Must spend a lot of time with chemistry to understand it. He is always helpful and available during office hours.

I would rather slit my wrist than have to have him for another class. If you are not a chemistry major he has no use for you and treats you like you are to stupid to be in his presents.
