I love professor Washington! He sometimes gets a bad review for his occasional speech stutter, but it does not take away from his teaching! He has so many stories for real world examples on what he teaches. He may be easily taken down a bunny trail but he always brings things back and his classrooms are more lighthearted. Strongly recommend taking

Awful class. He's too lenient, doesn't know how to teach a class but he seems like a nice guy. If you have a chance to take his reporting or fundamentals class, never do it if you're looking to learn something

He was a good guy and not a super hard grader. This class was slightly diffcult for me though because he had almost no deadlines and didn't give feedback.

When it comes to Reporting class, Washington knows his stuff! He gives great feedback because he is a reporter himself. There's quite a bit of writing and you have deadlines, but they're realistic and more lenient than an employer would mandate. If you have a chance, take him for Reporting, you wont regret it. He doesn't force a book on you either!

Washington is a great person, but not a good teacher. It's not a difficult 'A' but aside from studying for tests, you wont learn much. There's weekly quizzes & assignments, 2 papers, mid & final. You'll learn that he didn't write the course material because he'll tell you when he can't answer basic ?'s about the course content, which happens a lot.

Washington is a great guy, but an average professor. The work he gave out was very straight forward and easy to follow. He's a good guy to get to know but it's hard to contact him and his grading is a little wonk. Homework was given out every week and ranged from textbook work to opinions so it was an easy A. As long as you participate you'll pass.

This is the second time I've take one of Laurence's classes. He's a funny guy, but often goes off track. You will be writing a lot, but not multi-page papers. Just like stuff that would be in newspapers. His directions for assignments are sometimes confusing, and he assigns us stuff that doesn't really make us learn much. Easy class to take.

Easy class, he can get off-topic sometimes but he is an awesome guy and has a lot of fun doing what he does. Seriously don't waste your money on the text book. He makes his own lectures from the book, if you plan on not going to class buy a used, old edition of the book and read it, or just go to class, it's easy enough.

Washington is a very kind, funny man. He is easy to get along with and pretty understanding as a teacher. His classes are fun Intro classes to take and are usually an easy A, as long as you actually do the assignments. Don't take his classes if you want a really in depth view of Journalism, however, as his classes just barely touch the surface.

He's super funny and is a great person! If you're actually interested in learning about Journalism I would suggest being one on one with him. I took his class for a general studies class adn it was a total easy A! If your looking for an easy laid back class, this would be it. I enjoy sitting in his class.

Prof. Washington is a very nice guy and is very personable with the students. Have only learned a small bit about journalism though because we watched a few films, and did assignments that didn't really have anything to do with journalism. Can be an easy A class if you show up, take notes, and participate. The quizzes will be a breeze if you do.

Good guy, wasn't much of a teacher, more of a social person. We didn't learn much journalism and spent a good majority of the time talking about movies and books. Good guy, but not good for those who are passionate about journalism.

This teacher is a waste of time. I was really looking forward to JRN1010. I got three weeks of talking about movies, three weeks of ELVIS and trash. His class was not relevant at all, it was a joke. I want to report his curriculum because 90% of it had nothing to do with Journalism. WASTE OF TIME AND TUITION.

WASTE OF TIME. I only go once a week and have never even looked at the book, and I am flying through it and acing every assignment. I took high school classes more difficult than this. He's a nice guy, but among the worst teachers I've ever had.

Very nice man. His class was very fun; his grading very fair. With that said, it wasn't the most productive class I've ever taken. It was very easy to do well and you didn't receive an abundance of feedback, however, I still learned quite a bit. The textbook was nice to have, however, if you attended class, it was in no way a necessity.

He's a very nice man and I like him very much as a person. That said, he is not a great teacher. Assignments are vague at best, and there is no studying or practice to be had, so you are stumbling the entire time. Takes off points without explanation for why, which is frustrating considering he never told you what to do in the first place.
