Comment:

Very helpful and straightforward. Homework and Midterms are based on labs and practice tests respectively. As long as you do the work and understand what's going on you shouldn't have a difficult time

Another good class with Dr. Penas. She is always very straightforward--although, less so in this class than in 147/157. Responds VERY quickly to emails and requirements are very reasonable.

Hands down the BEST professor I've ever had in my life. Love how organized and straightforward her classes are. Show up to class, do the assignments, and you should be fine for the midterms/finals. She is a very fair and kind professor. I love her personality, too!

Comment:

Professor Penas is amazing! Reader was mandatory; however, there were open book exams. Weekly homework and labs, but homework was based on labs so make sure you do well on labs. Two exams but last one non-cummulative. Exams are straightforward and you can precode before the exam because there is a checklist. Exams like samples too. She loves dogs!

Dr Penas was very pleasant to take a class with. There were no tricks on anything... Everything was quite straightforward. I sometimes caught myself feeling uneasy because I thought I'd forgotten something. She returns assignments promptly and with comments. You can prewrite code for exams. She wants you to pass!

Dr. Penas was one of the best professors I've taken at UCR. She was so organized, an excellent lecturer, and the exams were exactly what we learned in class, no surprises! Highly recommend this class even if you're not a math whiz, Dr. Penas makes the material really easy to understand!

This professor is amazing! She knows how to deliver the materials to students. Also, she is very organized and there is no surprise or last-minute assignments; everything is laid out for you from the very beginning. Her exam is very straight-forward -no trick, just like her practice exam or in class exercise. Highly recommended!

Penas is AMAZING! She's such a sweet lady and easy to approach. She really cares for her students! I suck at math and had to work super hard in this class, but I raised my grade from a F to a C+. TA's and Penas are very helpful! I wish I could have her for BUS105, she's AWESOME!

I honestly cannot describe what Mr. Penas does as "teaching" because all we were taught was to plug in numbers into formulas without any insight as to why we are doing it. The course was required and I spent zero hour studying for it to get an A so I shouldn't complain.

A great professor that goes directly off of her textbook published by her. The text is considered more lecture notes, but she makes class easy to follow and the material easy to learn as long as you attend class. Quizzes and Exams are directly from her practice materials that is also available at the bookstore for a reasonable price. Easy class!

Comment:

Penas is a good professor, doesn't make you buy the textbook but you have to buy her lecture notes. Her teaching is very clear, and the material isn't hard, you just need to stay on top of the class. She does weekly quizes, so you have to go to class, but you have the option of whether or not you want to take the final, so study for her tests!

Probably to best prof I've had. She was helpful and explained everything clearly. Don't need to buy a book, just her notes. Just attend class everyday and have an IQ over 10 and you will pass her class and easily get an A

The material isn't that easy to understand for this class, however, she is one of the most coherent and helpful professors at UC Riverside. She really helped me understand the foundations of engr stats, in an easy-to-understand manner. She is very clear about what is expected and provides you adequate practice material to succeed on the exams.

The TA told us that she doesn't want us to buy textbooks just in case she get something wrong. I don't care because I borrow someone's old exams and got straight A without trying. It really helps if you compliment her and boost her geo because she's pretty shallow person.

I leanred a lot from her. She did a good job in lectures and explains all the materials very clear. We could have Cheatsheet for the test. We didnt need to buy a book coz the only important part is her notes, so if you go to her class and listen to the lectures then you will do fine. Some lectures contained a lot of stuff so pay close attention.
