Caine is knowledgeable but teaching is different. Tests are mainly short (SPECIFIC) answers and is a very hard subjective grader. Hardest class I have ever taken and she is known to be the hardest one to teach it. Goodluck.

Nancy Caine is an awesome funny professor who exceeds at explaining difficult content. Caine is willing to work with you through office hours to review tests and to help you better understand the content of lectures. I've taken several professors but Caine is the best when it came to Biopsych. Would take again w/ her honestly.

I would say to make a good outline but do not focus on the key terms, u have to know the key terms but u have to know how things work ( the more detail the better) she has open note tests so if you can do the study guide and write explanations for things it helps. I got a B+ on my first test, but I read the chapters and made notes and study guide.

One of the hardest courses I have taken, this is a very difficult course, but she is approachable. Go to SI and office hours. Make sure you organize your notes and do all of the readings. People say that her short answers are hard to answer correctly, but often times they are found in the study guides she passes out.

This class was by far the hardest class Ive ever taken. Especially in the beginning of the course. Nancy however is very intelligent and does her very best to pass along her knowledge and teach you to the best of her ability. She and the class are intimidating at first but if you do the reading and take vigorous notes you will do just fine!

Nancy Caine is amazing. If you go to her office hours she will go over notes to help you improve them and explain what went wrong with your test. If you do the work she will work with you. This is a tough class no matter who you take. Read the books. Go to SI. Take notes. This goes for all 360 classes. Hard grader but if you pass it feels great.

Ineffective professor. Very rude and harsh. Does not seem like she is dedicated to teaching students, but instead berates them and embarrasses them in front of the whole class. Papers are graded very harshly. She does not give a lot of structure or explanations. Exams are hard and the tiniest detail separates you from a C and an F.

I still have nightmares about this class. A lot of work. Four lab papers that are meticulously graded. One exam that is also meticulously graded. Not a lot of structure. Good luck you will need it for sure.

Four lab papers, 1 exam that was ridiculously difficult and 1 group project. She has very high expectations for the papers. Do not take if this is your first lab class. Does not give a whole lot of guidance- on your own. Hardest class I have ever taken. Attitude is condescending- gives unprofessional harsh advice. Would not take her class again.

If you had a hard time in Biopsych, or if you're not good at writing, you should probably take a different lab. Grading consists of 3 papers, 1 group poster, 1 proposal paper and presentation, and 1 exam. If you don't pass the exam, you cannot get higher than a C. Learned a lot and had fun at the Safari Park. Personally I really enjoyed this class.

She is ridiculously intelligent, unfortunately she is not an effective professor. It seems she doesn't want her students to succeed as she provides little to no help (the TA does help). Not a professor you'd feel comfortable stopping by during office hours as she makes you feel like the questions you are asking are dumb.

She is a great professor, although she is pretty tough. You HAVE to read and work hard to get a decent grade in the class. The concepts aren't too hard to grasp however there's a lot you have to know. Luckily the tests are open note, so take good notes. I would def. recommend taking bio psyc with her if you want to learn alot!

If you're looking for a Professor who is clear about what they're looking for, committed to helping students pass a challenging class like Bio-psych, this is NOT that teacher. The exams have many short answer questions where the difference between passing and failing is determined by an arbitrary, unpredictable detail. Not flexible or helpful.

Dr. Caine expects graduate level work and understanding, yet she teaches undergrads; boasting about how "most people don't pass her class." She seems unhappy and can be condescending and rude to students she dislikes. That said, this class will prepare you for the future, if you work hard. If you value you GPA, AVOID. She wants people to do poorly.

She's very nice but I really struggled in this class. I've gotten an A or a B in every class I've taken at CSUSM (for 3 years) but I got a C in this class. Ridiculously hard for a 3 unit undergraduate class. You have to take one stats test to pass the whole thing. Also, don't expect to get an A in this class. I would not take her again.

Hardest class ever! Worked my butt off for a C but its so worth it to take Caine. Shes amazing and so helpful and makes this an enjoyable class. Reading and attendance is mandatory to pass! take really good notes, go to SI and DEFINITELY go to her office hours. Absolutely love Caine! 4exams, 4journals, keep up w/ reading &do journals ahead of time.

She's hard. She expects a lot. Chances are, you won't get an A. On anything. But, this class will help you. You'll understand research and writing better. Not an easy A class. If you fail the 1 stats exam, you fail the *entire* class, so study. 4 HARD papers, 1 exam, 1 HARD proposal, 1 HARD group project. All worth it though, and I'd do it again.

Honestly, im sad the lab is over. If you take this lab you will undoubtly become a better writer because of it. Lab papers are only about 5 pages each, the oral presentation was pretty scary but if you get to know caine, it doesnt have to be so scary. She is willing to help if you give her your effort.

Yes, she is a tough grader, but she is the best professor on the campus. I learned so much in her biopsyc class it made me take her lab class because I knew I would benefit as a student from the experience. If you actually want to LEARN something (not just memorize) I recommend you take her for biopsyc, if you dont want to learn, take someone else.

Class is complex but the reason it's hard is because the teacher gives short answer exams. Also, she is a subjective grader.
