Comment:

Dr. Michalski is a great professor. As long as you do your speech outlines correctly, and actually make an effort in class to participate you will be fine. Don't sign up for the class if you're not comfortable speaking in front of the entire class. There is one group project so be sure to work with your team in order to make the time requirement.

She's a very good professor that's easy to talk to in class. Learned a lot about public speaking. This class is not a blowoff class though and requires quite a bit of preparation. Speeches make up a lot of the grade as well as some other assignments. May have you write a speech in less than a week so be prepared. A lot of easy extra credit though.

Comment:

Dr. Michalski is my favorite! Argumentation and Critical Thinking was not a hard class to pass. She offers various opportunities for extra credit (i.e. extra debates, donating supplies, being a time keeper, etc.). As long as you make an effort that is noticeable, you shouldn't have a hard time in this class.

(Honors) This was a super chill class, easy A. Attendance is optional but showing up makes studying a lot easier, as most of the test is covered with in-class slides. The class was solid, I learned a lot about public speaking.

Dr. Michalski is a great person. Though, her classes are extremely hard. You must be ready to put in the time to study for your grade. She gives reviews for her exams but they aren't anything like the exams. If you do your work, study hard for your exams you will do fine. She does usually offer extra credit.

Solid choice for Public Speaking. There are four speeches (one of which is a group speech) and a written test. However do not take this class lightly. She does grade the overall quality of the speeches somewhat hard so always be prepared. If you practice beforehand though and study for the test you will be fine.

Honestly, I don't think you'll find a teacher as good as Dr. Michalski besides Syveshnikova. Her class is NOT a class to wing. She is very understanding if you communicate with her. In addition to that, her teaching style is very easy to follow, and you can get ahead becuase she posts the PowerPoints on Blackboard. Ooverall, she's a great teacher!

This is the second time I've taken Dr. Michalski and once again she taught a great class. I enjoy her as a teacher because she really does care and listen. This class was divided with 3 exams, 5 journals, 1 paper, and a group project. The exams were extremely hard even with the study guide she provided. I will take her again in a heartbeat!

Took her honors course. Not my favorite class, but it wasn't that bad. Speeches aren't that difficult and gives a TON of extra credit throughout class. The one test we took was hard for me, but others did well. She is very respectful of student's opinions. Will work with you if you need help.

She is a very kind and lenient professor. The actual class is very easy going and not stressful at all (unless you have terrible speech anxiety). As the semester passes, the speeches get easier and better. She will note what you could do better in your speech, and methods you could try to improve. I just wish somehow that we could have done more.

Looks friendly and open to students. Makes interesting commentary in class. You will need a textbook for the tests. But her grading does not reflect your real performance... She will smile and say that you are doing fine, but don't expect an A even if you work harder than everyone else.

I am terrified of public speaking, but this class was actually not that bad. Michalski is really nice and approachable. She graded the speeches fairly leniently. As long as she sees that you are making an effort and attend class, she is generally willing to work with you.

This was an honors class so she held us to a very high standard and graded pretty hard, but she gave so much extra credit that it was easy to keep caught up.
