He is a very good professor, but you have to make sure you go to class and pay attention to his specific directions about essays and assignments. He is very big on participation. He was a very interesting professor, the topic maybe dull but he makes it fun! But definitely pay attention in class, ATTEND class ! Important that he knows you in class!

Awful prof. He is very rude. Nevermind the 20% participation mark that you had to speak in class in order to receive credit. He did say funny things from time to time but I definitely do not recommend this prof. Complete jerk.

Publishing class - He's not exactly the brightest guy and he rambles and misinterprets what students ask. However, he gets AMAZING guest speakers and has great time management. You are expected to learn from the guest speakers, though, and not him. Attendance MANDATORY for each speaker.

To the last person who posted: It looks like he taught you English real good (!!). You can't even get his name right. My opinion: I found Dr. Davis to be an OK instructor/facilitator for this class. The class had its moments, but I was hoping to be more inspired. It was a little too inconsistent.

Rick Davis is the worst prof I had in University. Never mind his single minded devotion to topics only he has interest in or his tendencies to promote his own horrible work, he is just a boring crappy teacher and I didn't learn anything from him.

He's got his own criteria for what is right and wrong which is very discouraging. He also makes snap judgments about students and ridicules them based on his opinions. This was the most unfriendly learning environment I've ever experienced.
