Gappa is the man! you have to pay attention in class, but if you take good notes, its easy to study from them instead of attempting to reread the stories. he lectures the whole class, so it can get a little long, but he makes it interesting.

Easy AB or B-not an easy A. Exams are actually kind of diffucult but you are guarunteed a B.over 50% wrong but got an 88 with the essay.Impossible to know how he grades?Mostly everythings on sparknotes so do well on the first 3 so you dont have to take the final...AND DON'T take the final.He grades that1 hard. I did trying to get an AB but failed

I love Mr. Gappa! He's so helpful and pretty entertaining. English Lit isn't the most action packed area of school, but he mixes in humor and anecdotes and makes his classes pretty fun. The tests seem hard, but he will give you a good grade still. Take him, you'll love him.

Really good teacher. I did horrible on the finals, got more than half wrong. however, essay questions are easy! I still got 89/100 on all three tests so far! highly recommend. he's extremely passionate about subject and it's easy to follow along :)

This class was interesting to me and Dr. Gappa was the reason. He is passionate about the content and is the most knowledgable professor I have had. I'm pretty sure he is going to be retiring after this semester though so I'm sorry you didn't get the opportunity to have him.

Pretty easy class if you attend. I didn't even read much just used sparknotes mostly and studied off my own notes in class and did pretty well on his tests. THought it would be much harder, but really not that bad.

The first test was a breeze, but the second two tests are a challenge. He asks very detailed questions. He tells you they are easy as long as you read and pay half attention in class. Not true, you have to be able to list who wrote what passage and what it means. You also have to memorize their biograhies. An AB is pretty easy. 95% is an A, th

I have had many classes with Dr. Gappa and have enjoyed them all. I hear rumor that he may be retiring. That is depressing! He is a WEALTH of knowledge and anyone who has the opportunity to take him will learn from him.

The class was easy- show up and take notes. The grade in the class consisted of exam scores and attendance. He does provide a study guide- make sure you do it because he doesn't cover everything in lecture. Not much discussion, this middle aged women in front answered the most questions. Find the study guide answers and read the books!

one of the worst classes i have taken on this campus...he is a horrible lecturer and his tests have questions so detailed you can't possibly study for everything...TONS of reading...and the reading is a must to pass the class...avoid him if at all possible

I loved this class. He incorporates not only material from the text, but also children's novels. He gives supplemental quizzes on a daily basis which are not graded, but help when studying for the tests. You MUST study for the tests!

Adol. Lit is only going to be so intersting, but he seems to like it, and the class is very easy. Tests are not the easiest, but all you do is read a book a week (about 300 p.)
