Dr. Gilmore is passionate about the course material and, while the readings can be a bit dense and confusing, the time spent in class is used clarifying the readings. Dr. Gilmore offers great constructive feedback on papers and really wants to see you succeed, even if you're not a philosophy major.

Gilmore was an awesome professor. He assigns a lot of reading for his class, but you don't really need to do any of it because he goes over what you need to know in class. His lectures are a lot of fun and I would totally take his class again. He is super respectful of all opinions anand views.

Dr. Gilmore goes into such great detail in his lectures that I've gotten away with just taking notes and not reading a few of the books and still got A's on the papers and tests. If you have a hard time understanding the material (which you probably will, it's philosophy), you won't do well without going to class. Funny and understanding 10/10

I don't what it was, but he didn't seem to like me. It seemed like anything I had to say was always considered wrong because he doesn't like to agree with a student. 90% of the time he would then repeat what I said 15 minutes later in a different way. "Discussions" were not really discussions. He apparently did not like my writing at all either.

Coolest prof ever. There is nothing not to like about any of his classes other than the time it takes him to return papers sometimes. He knows his stuff and he genuinely loves teaching and hearing students express their own opinions. I strongly recommend any class that he teaches.

I've had a few classes with him and intend to take more. He is hilarious and explains what we need to know very clearly. His tests and papers can be tough. One more thing: green corduroys.

Thinking about Values is a worth while class to take. You read like CRAZY and write some long papers, but you learn a ton. Gilmore makes a possibly otherwise dreadful class a ton of fun even if he is hard.

I've had him for three semesters (Inquiry, thinking about value, ancient philo) and plan to take him at least once more. By far my favorite prof! He has an amazing stutter, is funny, smart, helpful and kind. He is very passionate about philosophy and does a great job teaching it. Go Gilmore!

Took this class with someone who had already had Gilmore, and walked in with high expectations. He exceeded my expectations for sure. Tons of crazy energy, great stories, and wicked smart. He made things easy to understand, which is very difficult for a philosophy class. Definitely one of my favorite classes from college.

Gilmore is an amazing professor. I am so lucky to have gotten his inquiry seminar. He is incredibly passionate about philosophy and loves nothing more than to here the opinions of his students. There is quite a bit of philosophical reading but its interesting. We watched good movies and we all had fun together. I hope to have him again!
