He's class can be boring sometimes even if you are interested in the topic but! try to ask many questions so it's not just him talking He would love you answer your questions (He literally knows everything about East Asia) He is not a harsh grader just show up in class and readings are not mandatory you can still catch up with his presentations

Really knows his subject and you learn a lot. Not the most exciting class - has the kind of voice that can put you to sleep. Tests straight forward and easy if you prepare and he grades fairly. Easy to approach for help. Assigns too much reading but learned you didn't have to do it all. Overall, take a class of his if interested in asian culture.

You need to have an interest in the subject material, otherwise it can be a bit boring--but the assignments are quite manageable (that's coming from somebody who has serious management problems) and he is a VERY approachable guy and very well-liked for his willingness to go out of his way to help you. 5/5!

Entenmann is a wonderful professor! If you're in Asian Studies/AsiaCon you'll quickly learn who he is, and enjoy seeing him around campus. He has a wonderful sense of humor, a thousand anecdotes and stories to tell, and knows more about Asian History than anyone else I've ever met.

this class taken in the late afternoon is very dangerous. i think everyone in the class fell asleep on more than one occasion. he is a good prof, but his voice is very soothing and can put you to sleep. his tests are honest, and not hard if you're prepared, and he grades his papers fairly

While he is not the most exciting prof ever, he has a dry sense of humor that is endearing. A walking encyclopedia of Asian knowledge and unwaveringly fair and kind. Says something funny every day, you just have to be on your toes to catch it. Hypnotic voice. All in all, one of the coolest profs here in an understated way.

Dr. Entenman is a kind man, always ready to give help. However, he has unrealistic expectations of how much reading students can do. Also, his lectures are not very engaging.

I took this class for the ASST major. We had to write a response paper for every reading we did. He is very easy-going and open-minded. I liked his dry sense of humor. Was probably a nerd in high school/college. It would be very hard for someone to score below a B in this class.

I chose my major based on this professor's class, which lead to several jobs in Asia and some writing work. He helped me with recommendations and let me hand in a final paper late when I got sick. A friendly, patient man.
