Let's just say the final screwed me over. Although it was all multiple choice, there were direct quotes from the textbook we never went over. She usually goes on about issues pertaining to the reading but usually never speaks of what the author of the readings say directly. You better memorize everything word for word if you want a good grade.

shes not a nice teacher. but if u read the readings and take notes, her tests arent THAT bad. if you want to do well on the paper just email her after every paragraph you write or go to office hours, shell think youre trying and give you a good grade. go to class bc perfect attendence = 10 bonus pts on final (minus 2 for each class u miss).

You don't need to buy the book. You can just print the articles out. Waste of money.I really hated her class. She strives to make things as uninteresting as possible, even reading from the book for hours on end. A ready fresh hell, where not even coffee will save you.

a lot of attitude in a small package, prof satow (nicknamed prof satan, for reasons you will soon discover if taking her class) is not exactly a "people person." however if you are driven and really want to learn (as opposed to just pass) she will recognize that and try to help you out. horrible quizzes though :(

she is a god-sent professor. the woman is clear, helpful, strict, and respectful if she sees that effort is applied. no ****. for those who have a hard time in the class she will offer as much help as you need as long as you try. if you are easily defeated and you do not have a good work ethic i assure you there is no chance you will pass.
