Hes a great teacher. He always makes you laugh every class. He is very fast in lectures, which can be hard to keep up with. You HAVE to take notes and be there every class or you will fail. He is also a tutor, which helps out a lot. Hes not the type to just give you the answer, you have to figure it out. Quizzes are cake, and test can be rough.

I am in love with this man. You HAVE to take good notes and pay attention, or you'll be left behind. He goes very fast, but he'll help you if you ask for it. It's not taken up, but DO THE HOMEWORK or you're not going to pass. Tests are long, but if you've studied you should have no problem.

He was one of my favorite math teachers by far! He will answer your questions and will help you before and after class if needed. The one thing I did have trouble with is he only had one way of teaching so if you didn't understand it you were out of luck. Other than that he was a great teacher!

The man is a genius, makes math interesting. Show up for class, do your homework (although they are not graded), and STUDY the test reviews and you will do fine. I did have to spend extra time studying but its been over 20 yrs since I had taken a math class.

Great teacher. No homework, except for 12 quizzes and only the best 10 counted towards the grade. People say he's isn't very helpful, but I've seen him tutoring students outside of class. Tends to be sarcastic, but explained everything well enough for me to recieve a 99 average.

Mr.Guffey was the best math teacher I've ever had. Anyone with an interest in higher level mathematics such as Calculus would strongly benefit by taking his class. He expects that his students learn the language of mathematics, which is very important to truly understanding the processes by which math works.I only wish more teachers were like him.

I liked him as a person--not as a professor. He's kind of sad--but has a pretty good sense of humor. I dropped his class because it was just too difficult and the tests were too hard (for me). (but) I'm not a big algebra fan.

Mr. Guffey taught me Physical Science in 9th grade at Leestown Middle School (~1984). I learned a lot from Mr. Guffey. He will never bend over backward to accomodate you. However if you genuinely try hard and invest time in the subject, he will gladly help you. He was tough over 20 years ago and I doubt he has changed.

Horrible teacher. Said he would be helpful in answering questions and there is not such thing as a stupid question. First homework assignment when people had a question, he turned the spotlight on them to make them look stupid for not knowing how to do a specific problem. After that class, i heard his High School teaching was horrible as well.

I wouldn't call this class easy, but I did manage an A with a little work. If you need to be spoon fed and have your ego stroked, look elsewhere. He covers the material and we all go home - I like that. Homework was never actually graded. Reviews were provided for all tests, and grading was more than fair with partial credit given when warranted.

OK so i had guffey in high school and he sucks! he tells nasty jokes and talked for a week about having "the runs". as a teacher hes ok...typical single, cat loving, math teacher. oh and his sweaters will always keep class interesting. but other than that i wouldnt suggest taking him.
