His teaching method is terrible he doesn't actually teach he assigns module online and a video of a lady teaches and explains how to do the work. During class he does about a 20 minute lecture of example problems and you can tell many students are lost because he will ask a question and nobody will answer then he will stare until someone does

Very cut & dry. Goes off the syllabus. You are free to work ahead & finish early. You do have to ask for help if you need it. Very hands off approach but he does care about his students. Good student aid, you will rely on her mostly. Struggling with the subject? I recommend a different class. Excel at it? This is this is your class.

Comment:

Hybrid online class in a class. It was an adjustment to say the least. He pressures the students to hurry up so I thought I was behind the entire time. I was the second one finished and still had 3 weeks of classes left. He will help you, but you HAVE to get him ONE on ONE and state EXACTLY what you aren't understanding. Find him in the math lab.

The prof really does not do much on this course. You teach yourself basically by watching videos and examples on MathXL. He is not a bad professor, but he does not teach. He has a student aid in the class that is helpful, but only if you need it. I had one question the whole class. Finished in 6 weeks as it is self-paced.

Professor Uong is a great guy, but he doesn't help you at all. If you take his hybrid class, he does not teach. The lessons are videos of teachers teaching you the lesson. There is a student teacher that helps more than Professor Uong does. No textbook use at all. Overall, he does care about you and your work, but does not teach you anything.

This teacher wants to teach you. He would stay with me and have me do problems on the board until I understood what I was doing. He does always say its easy but its more of a way to lighten things up a bit. Math is hard and he makes it a little more bearable for those of us who are math morons.

If you are fast paced learner and can grasp concepts quickly he is a great teacher to have. If you haven't been to school in a while and have a hard time with math DO NOT I repeat DO NOT take his class. I really don't think he will ever take up your homework but, he does give you a load of it. It will help if you need practice.

I would stay away if possible. I don't think he realizes that he is there to teach, and not prove that he is smarter than us. Gives a ton of homework that he may or may not collect. Test problems get a bit ridiculously hard, and sometimes contain techniques that he may have barely touched on in class.

FIND ANOTHER TEACHER! Doesn't give any kind of review for any test, not even final; gives a ton of homework (95 problems first night) and never collects. Does not teach from book, just goes straight to section problems as examples. Takes attendance at the end of class; he forgets he supposed to be TEACHING and assumes you know what he's talking abo

Here is the deal.Professor Uong does go at a consistent rate. If you have problem come early better yet ask quetions. If you still don,t understand ask him again. He is very helpful if you utilize him. He does keep it intresting. Point blank do all homework and you will be fine.Took him for elem &intermediate.Got and A&B.

This is the WORST math teacher, he is nice, dont get me wrong however, he's test are CRAZY and he's grading makes not sense there is no consists with his grades. I would not recommend ANYONE to take his class!!!!

On the surface, he seems like an ok teacher. This is until you see your first quiz. It is nothing like the material he covers in class. He is always saying. "IT'S EASY!" He got very defensive when the class as a whole failed a quiz and we tried very politely to express our concerns. He then made everything harder. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!

He always says its easy, however, he does not allow for the formulas during the tests or quizzes and he moves way to fast. He was nice, just too hard and I had to withdraw, he never took up the homework we did, and rushes after class to get to his wife. Class ends early, however, he was rushed. Formulas needed during quiz & TEST WONT GIVE IT.
