I'm surprised at how many say he is a good teacher. While he is extremely smart, he is hands down the most boring teacher I have ever had. The lectures are informative, but he is a ridiculously monotonous talker who, quite literally, puts you to sleep. Its a problem given the class is completely lecture based. He made an exciting class boring.

There is not many grades in this class, we had about 3 quizzes and 2 exams the entire semester, the only cushioning grades you have are 2 assignments and group project. Even those are bit difficult and dry. This whole class was dry, Sapp was a nice guy just very boring. I would recommend another class if you like Finance, might drop your GPA.

Dr. Sapp is one of the smartest professors in the college of business. His course is challenging but you will leave it with a great deal of knowledge. Expect to prepare for tests & quizzes far in advance because there is a lot of material throughout the course. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Sapp's class.

Dr. Sapp is very knowledgeable of investment concepts. However, his class his very rigorous. The lecture notes are fairly identical between his undergraduate and graduate course. He only gives a midterm and final exam along with 4 quizzes. They require memorization and application. There are also a few group assignments. Lectures and notes are long

The homework and group projects are a lot of work so start early on them. He is kind of hard to listen to in lecture, and isn't super specific on what he wants all of the time. Don't miss the homework/group project walkthrough days, they are extremely important.

Sapp is an incredibly intelligent man and his class is fairly interesting. You will not need a book for this class, his lecture notes are great. Make sure you attend class to fill in lecture notes. If you memorize the material the tests are straight forward. I recommend taking this class with Dr. Sapp.

Comment:

Sapp is extremely knowledgeable however can belittle you in his office. You don't need the book, and he curves the class about 10%. The exams were tricky, but the quizzes were what really got people tripped up. Make sure you stay on top of the excel assignments (There's 3) and take good notes and go to class and you will do fine.

Not a terrible teacher. Kind of hard to listen to with a monotone voice. The class is curved which helps A LOT. Is fair when grading quizzes, but midterm is tough as are the assignments. Goes SUPER fast when going over assignments so take notes. Don't buy the book.

Sapp is a great teacher, but you have to pay attention. If you have a short attention span or aren't interested in finance, take this with someone else. He gets students involved hands on, and presents material in a very clean and easy to understand way. I highly suggest taking 320 with him.

Dr. Sapp is an excellent professor. His course is challenging. You will learn and comprehend significant investment analysis and methods. Dr. Sapp does an excellent job of integrating Excel applications into the course work and projects. A passing or better grade will be very difficult to achieve without attending class. He is very helpful.

Great Professor. He is a bit more challenging than others who teach this class I'm sure, but you get a lot more out of it as a result. He is a very accomplished guy that knows his stuff. I would still read the textbook, although he presents the material in a much easier to understand way.

Pretty hard class but it's pretty interesting as well. He's kind of monotone so you need to make sure you're paying attention but he knows what he's talking about and overall I enjoyed his lectures. Make sure you review well for the test and take his practice exams. They give you a good idea of how much you have it down
