He's weird and funny but that makes him great. He knows a lot about literature and he'll make you read things you'd never think of picking up. I've really expanded my library and have found a real love for strange novelist.

I've had Tyrone for many classes over the past few years and he has consistently been one of the most caring and invested professors I've had the pleasure of learning from. If you do the work and have a sense of humor, you'll get along great. He is also an excellent advisor who will go above and beyond to make sure his advisees have what they need.

Tyrone Shaw is an exceptional instructor. I had two upper division Journalism classes with him, Spring 2015. His syllabus spells out the agenda, goals and expectations for the class in clear detail. He is approachable and gives solid, useful feedback. He is a skillful, caring, knowledgable professor. Work hard, be interested, enjoy and learn.

Tyrone was a great mentor in New Publishing and News Writing. If you came to class motivated and had stories in mind to pitch, he was impressed and overall had a great attitude. He can be critical sometimes but he always ends up praising the final product. Witty man with a great deal of knowledge. Talk about Eastern Europe with him and you're set!

I really wanted to like Tyrone. However his pretentious attitude detracted from his ability to convey his overall teachings. He lives up to the cliche "if you cant do, teach." Good man bad teacher.

Tyrone is an amazing professor, but not easy. He is readily available for help outside of class. He responds to e-mails exceptionally well. If you truly put all your efforts into passing the class, chances are you will pass. He is the kind of professor you will learn a lot from if you work hard in his class.
