Comment:

Hard class but he is there to help, especially with the homework problems he gives if you ask. Gives a sample final with solutions before the midterms and final that are proportional in intensity to actual exam, different problems of course. Very organized in his lectures. Project is an easy 10%. I'm not a talented student at all but I did OK

Ineffective teaching method and style. Difficult to understand. Powerpoint lectures are useless. Does not work problems. Material itself is not hard, but it is difficult to self teach this entire class. Do NOT take this professor. I cannot stress this enough.

Never have I had a teacher as inept as this guy. Spends about 15 minutes at the beginning of class to talk about nothing, then when he tries to teach he quickly glides through lecture slides while just reading them out to the class. Doesnt give explanations to example problems, studders like a mad man, and provides no clarity. Dont take this class

I went into this class with high hopes and was immediately given up on by his teaching and hw. Hw has nothing to do with anything in class and material that is on the tests is never seen in class. Only self teaching can help you. Just avoid at all costs.

Lectures are incomprehensible, & he doesn't even make his own tests, notes, or hw's. He's a nice old guy but that's about it. He is NOT capable of teaching engr students despite the fact that he is knowledgeable of the subject. He just mumbles to himself. Don't attempt, just AVOID. You're better off waiting til next semester.

This is one of the worst electrical engineering professor at SJSU. Hard to understand from heavy stuttering, veers off topic a lot, uses lab view to show his random programs that aren't necessary for class, and his hw and tests don't relate well to his lecture or even the book. I expected more from the SJSU Engineering. Avoid at all cost

Nice guy sure, but terrible teacher. Rides off Hsu's lecture, hw, and tests, and delivers it like dog poo. I get that some people will take a bad teacher thinking they can put up with it, but don't even bother with him. Stutters, reads the lecture to just himself, can't believe he's allowed to teach in a class that's already hard. I am disgusted.

Mixed feelings. He is a nice guy, works hard, and is extremely knowledgeable. However, his voice is incomprehensible, he meanders and rambles through the lecture, and his tests are ridiculous (eg, he'll ask the gain of an amp that is wired incorrectly). The best way to prepare for his tests is to imagine the most nonsensical spin on the subject.

Very picky about how the lab notebook is arrange. labs are hard and long and you will end up spending a lot of time there and even overtime. Don't expect him to help you with the circuits cause that's not his job, ask help from others that have succeeded. he talks weird cause he used to smoke, btw.

This guy is the worst professor I have ever had. He was never around to answer questions and if he was it didn't help. He is lazy and unorganized. The class submitted a petition to remove him from the lab, but he has tenure. He probably needs the money; however, he shouldn't be teaching such an important lab (EE124). HE SUCKS BIG TIME--STAY AWAY!

He is an insult to academics. He constantly stutters, walks in and out, he is unorganized and messy. The lab manual is filled with errors. Help yourself because he will be unclear in his explanations. He expects you to follow ridiculus and useless rules. Unclear grading and lots of friction. He should not be teaching. The labs are a lot of work but the lab manual walks you through it except the feedback one where you must make assumptions they don't tell u. Look out for that. Strasilla is a friendly old guy. Our class was taught by TA but Strasilla showed up to answer the hard questions. Accent is hard to follow and shaky which might be a disease. Labview sucks.

Stresses every single detail..Puts equal emphasis on the hardest and trivial things. Spends days..days on enrollment problems. Bright side is that he's good on partial points. write something!! Scenario: He came to class on time and saw 4 students out of the 16. Complained that everyone was late and needs to be on time for his lecture. Three minutes later, he LEFT the classroom for 1 hour. Came back to class and lectured for 1 hour. Less than 1 hour left to finish up the lab. NICE!
