I loved Downie!! I took her for both CMSTD 8 and 4, and loved both classes. I love her personality and teaching style. She is very interactive with the class and gets the students completely involved in the topics. I learned a lot about myself, life, and my relationships with others. She gives you lots of info. that you can take with you forever.

I can't begin to count how many times one of her lectures has turned into some kind of anti-male rant. Downie is **** and close-minded. She gets angry when people disagree with her. Don't take her unless you absolutely have to.

she was a little tough, but made the assignments beneficial to the class. in other words. there was a method to her madness. i enjoyed her humor, but i could see how she could be considered 'dry'. you'll learn a lot, but also have a lot of work.

this has got to be one of the hardest classes i've ever taken but becuase she's such a great teacher, i loved every bit of it. i really understood the information and ever though it was a lot of work, i feel that i've come out of this class with a different perspective on arguments and logic :)

I absolutely love Prof. Downie..She is halarious, and everything that she says, I can totally relate to. I've learned a lot about people and why they do the things they do, it's my favorite class and I would take this class a million times over if I could. She gives no test, no final, and minimal work. Class lectures aren't boring and allows class discussion among students.

This is a tough class. Take notes and get a study group early. Without a study partner it will be very difficult by the 5th week. She does get off topic but is willing to help students after class. Ask lots and lots of questions. I walked out with a C+. The final paper is tough, if your not used to writing factual papers.

Downie is a fabulous teacher! You will learn the essentials of communication, and in the process help those less fortunate in the community. Her lectures are great, not the least bit hard to follow, unless asleep! To all whom claim otherwise, maybe you should have attended classes, and studied!

The sweetest lady ever. Will make you feel good and you will leave with a smile. Love her stories and you learn things you can really use. She tends to get off topic however, and you kinda have to learn on your own.
