I LOVE THIS GUY. Super funny guy that encourages group discussion. He knows his stuff. Pay attention to what he's saying vs what's on the powerpoint. Just use that as a template. One big paper at the end. Some dry material, but other than that, TAKE WALLY.

To do well don't write down what he has on his power points, instead just write down everything he says. The tests aren't overly hard but they can be frustrating because they have a lot of minor details that are briefly mentioned in class rather than big ideas or events. Make sure to participate. He knows and loves history, and it shows.

He was funny and fair. The class didnt feel like it went on forever. You know he loves history. Sometimes the test had questions that were kinda random, so show up to most classes.

He's fun guy and you can really tell he enjoys history. The class is mostly lecture based so if you miss the class you miss a lot. His tests were kind of hard because there's so much information & he doesn't give you much direction. Your grade is just the exams and one paper - however he graded pretty lax on the paper and i ended the class w/ a B.

Civil War and Reconstruction with Prof Hettle, he cares and is very knowledgeable on the subject matter. The entire grade in the class is based on 4 book review papers on 4 different books. When it comes to grading, he's one of those professors that is a tough A, but also very difficult F. Overall he was informative, funny, and fair.

Hettle is hilarious! His lectures are full of things you may not have known about the civil war era. His tests are relatively easy if you just go to class and take notes however, his grading takes a while and you won't know you're final grade until the end of the semester.

Prof Hettle was my favorite prof by far. I always looked forward to listening to his lectures and was always entertained. He takes a while to get your tests back, but they are really easy. Just read over your notes and listen to what he says rather than the slide.

Great Professor! He is willing to help you out if you need it. The books are easy, and you should read them as the tests will be over him. However, he is a Chicago Cubs fan, so... there is that.

He speaks kinda quietly. He follows the textbook of Forner for his lectures. The textbook has outlines online and these are lifesavers. He really knows his stuff and loves the content. He has 4 tests that each have 10 true or false questions with one essay question. No cumulative final. You must read the additional books he assigns (not long tho).

Hettle is pretty awesome. Funny and easy to understand. He expects you to learn the material and read the chapters but if you do so, you'll have no issue on the test. He offers a couple of extra credit opportunities a semester.

must go to class and take nonstop notes the whole period. theres four units with a test at the end. for each test you must read a book and study all the lecture notes. no study guide which means you have an overwhelming amount of notes to study.
