Comment:

She was initially a bit unclear, but things smoothed out after the first few classes. She really cares about her students and will provide plenty of guidance if you reach out to her. However, be prepared to revise a lot. She makes you work hard for that A, but her criticism is very insightful and will make you a better writer.

Comment:

She is very unorganized and hard to understand especially with her accent. She thinks every speech is either too memorized or too spontaneous, there is no in between. She makes her instructions very unclear and the students have to decipher things together. Also her syllabus is completely unorganized and she doesnt even follow it.

Professor Antonicka is amazing. She really wants to see you succeed. The material of her class is very clear on what she wants done and how. She makes sure you are prepared for upcoming classes. Just show up, do the work and speak when you need help and she will be sure to give you undivided attention.

Comment:

Lots of chances to re-do papers, will check and give feedback on work, so you can redo. No reason not to get an A or B. Could be a bit hard to understand, has an accent. Cares about students. Lots of group work and group work is a major part of grade. Pick groups wisely! Have to meet outside of classroom time.

This professor is a little much to handle, do not take her class without patience. The material is easy and informative if you attend class regularly. This class involved a lot of writing and a lot of speaking in front of the class. Kind of like a public speaking class.

Changes syllabus frequently. Class easy to pass, allows multiple revisions on papers after graded. Also allows, early turn in (even for final exam) which allows more revision time if you don't like your grade. No reason not to get an A. Due to so-so lectures, you may have to do some self-learning. Has an accent, sometimes hard to understand.

She does have a heavy accent and sometimes hard to understand but she is very easy going and will work with you if you need help. She cares about each student and wants everyone to try their best. Awesome teacher

Professor Antonicka is a great professor. She cares for her students, but don't expect to get an A for showing up. She will require you to work hard, but if you're willing to work with her, she will help you. If you show initiative, do your homework, and study, you will pass with a good grade. She loves to get to know her students. Good luck.

Shes a great teacher!!! she is little tough with work but that's only because she wants to see you succeed. I've learned a lot about MLA and work cited and that has helped me succeed !!! i would take her class again if she was teaching 102.

I have mixed feelings of her. She has always gave me decent grades but to some others she won't even look at their papers because they do not seem interesting enough to her. She does not clarify what she wants from you and is difficult to understand. I would suggest getting on her good side and show up to class and you should do just fine.

She does have a thick polish accent, which can make it difficult to understand her. She asks for random assignments and you rarely see them after you hand them in. All take home tests. Speeches are the main grades, she mostly cares about eye contact and how you stand. Not so much about the content of your speech. show up to class and you're good.

I took intro to communications my freshman year. This class was unreasonably difficult. She doesn't even grade students on the speeches herself she puts the class in an awkward position to grade their peers, and keeps the grade the class suggests. Either you "memorize the speeches too much" or you "haven't even practiced" you cant win.

Very rude to students. If you ask for help she barely gives any without saying something like "you should have been paying attention" or "why don't you know this. Do you have a hearing problem?" is never satisfied with your work or notes even if you copy it word for word what she sayswrites. very lenient when you can hand in things.

So unclear, I don't retain anything from this class. She'll talk about her personal life in the middle of class. She's very critical. Someone gives a good answer and she'll criticize them and scare people away from participation. Doesn't follow syllabus, says assignments are due when they aren't. Really just a terrible teacher. DO NO RECOMMEND.

As an instructor for Communications and English, her thick Russian accent made it frustrating to understand her directions clearly. I misunderstood her often. Would steer CLEAR.

She is a good teacher who cares about her students. She wants you to succeed. Just do your work and show up to class. She gives extra credit opportunities, and will let you redo your speeches if you don't like the grade you received. She isn't hard to understand and the bad comments are probably from people who just didn't want to do the work.

Absolutely hated this class. Very unorganized, did not follow the syllabus, and quite frankly could not understand her whatsoever. Hated this class, would not reccomend taking class if you are just looking to get by for this pre-req.
