Don't take his enthusiasm for an easy A. He teaches very well and makes the content/class very enjoyable but his exams are far from easy. He's also a tough grader. He doesn't care if you're not a Bio major he wants you to put in effort. He gives quizzes every other day. There's 2 exams and 2 lab reports. He does not curve!

Great guy loves teaching , loves cracking jokes but honestly it is the only thing that will get you through Biology. He is a down to heart guy who really is very helpful. 13 quizzes (2 take home) and drops 3. Pretty hard if you do not study. Reviews literally everything you need to know for the practicals. Wish he taught my other classes. TAKE HIM!

I loved this professor! You can tell when a teacher is actually passionate about his job, and this is the case with Bill Merdian. His classes are always interesting and make learning fun! He's a bit of a jokester but it's always in good fun and definitely entertaining. I highly recommend him!

Very funny and entertaining, likes to get the class involved.13 quizzes (one each week), drops three. Quizzes are easy if you take notes and review. 2 Lab practicals. First one if hard, final practical seems easy (taking it tom). Take this class if you wanna learn, and have fun. Hes a good guy, and I definitely recommend him.

this has been my favorite professor to date, not only because he is funny/comical but also because he actually knows what he's teaching and listening to his lessons help out in Lecture also (allows me to skip lecture freely). Practical is actually easy if u study beforehand(TAKE PICTURES). Great guy, funny,def smoked up alot in his wild years.

lab professor. he is very funny (some ppl think he is rude) and makes lab class BEARABLE & ENJOYABLE. he is very fair and works with his students til they understand the material. be sure to study early for the two practical exams cuz they are hard. study every night for the quizzes (13, drops 3). take him if u can with Gernert!!

Easy professor for summer. Tries to be funny but is not. Takes attendance. Easy exams and gives a review of questions but you need to know his lecture notes well. Low text book use. Exams are entirely from the lectures. I stopped reading the textbook after 3 chapters. Easy A.

By far the BEST professor in Baruch!! Lectures to make sure you learn! He tells relevant stories to enhance the learning experience, ridiculously funny and very entertaining! I would highly recommended him! I loved this class!Just make sure you don't touch your phone or disturb the class and you'll be fine! No book, just take good notes!

He is very vibrant and has a good sense of humor. Is passionate about the class and does want students to do well. He won't tolerate any nonsense like texting in class and I saw him throw a student out of an exam because he saw she was cheating. He was right to do that. If you take lots of notes and study you'll do fine in his class.

Bill is the man. Very hard class where you actually have to study every week. Midterm is extremely hard but final is much better. 13 quizzes, he drops 3 of them. Overall, I recommend him for Bio1005.

He is hysterical. You will never have a more sarcastic professor than him. If you ask him to repeat something, he will make fun of you and then repeat it. Quiz once a week, and drops the lowest 3. His practicals are not that easy, he only gives you a minute at each station. Gotta review A LOT to get a good grade.

I have never rated a professor but I had to when it comes to Professor Merdian. He is the BEST! whoever said anything bad about him is lying. He does joke a lot but his lessons are crystal clear and his jokes make the class go by faster, he's hilarious. i took him summer08 for lecture and lab. he's sooo fun and the class is easy! don't buy the book. one midterm and one final- study the review packet before each exam. he practically tells you exactly what's going to be on them. i actually miss the class
