Gunderson is best Stats professor at Mich by far, but she goes super slow during lecture so very easy to lose focus, LABS ARE HUGE, seriously pay much more attention on labs and make sure u get mark, he prepares u well, lectures and coursepack aren't really helpful, understand how to do every practice problem and many practice tests and its easy

she's a fine lecturer but like this class is made to be so much harder than it should be. the grading is so nitpicky, it doesn't test your understanding of statistics at all. i got a decent grade, but have 0 understanding of stats

Dr. Gunderson is incredible! She is so organized and her lectures are so clear. The best of all -- she is caring and wants her students to succeed. I highly recommend to go to office hours, start your homework early, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Take advantage of all the resources they provide and you will be on your way to success! :)

Brenda is a good professor, it's just the class that is difficult. Exams are really hard and they don't do a good job to prepare you for them.

Gunderson is awesome! Her lectures are so clear. I listen to the lecture recordings after class, and rewrite my notes -- they help so much. I highly recommend going to the office hours to do the weekly HW. She releases two practice exams before each exam. Doing atleast one helps a ton! Also, take advantage of the eCoach activities for extra credit.

Comment:

Gunderson is the best stats professor at Umich. HOWEVER, stats is terrible and if you have the option to NOT take this course, DON'T. The exams are unnecessarily hard and VERY nitpicky. Office hours are practically useless because GSIs are reluctant to actually explain and they're always PACKED. The course pack is also super confusing.

Gunderson just doesn't know how to lecture. The examples we go over in class don't reflect the true exam difficulty. The coursepack is made in a way that's extremely confusing, which makes it more difficult for students to learn the right way to interpret certain terms. The one thing getting me through this class is my prior AP stats knowledge.

Comment:

Gunderson is the best stats professor. She knows the material so well, she gives her students all resources available to succeed. It's up to the student on how they use them. Go to office hours. Exams are hard. But I would retake this class just to have Gunderson again. Stats is amazing only because of her.

Dont take this class. It gets harder and harder every semester. It is so much interpretation and if you miss a word within it, you will get points taken off. Gunderson tries to trick you on exams and makes the material unnecessarily harder than it needs to be.

Gunderson was an amazing professor. She made stats look like a piece of cake. She is always willing to help students. The class is based on your test grades tho, so study hard for those!

Gunderson is an amazing professor and knowledgeable lecturer. She makes stats a great class and is very clear in explaining all the material. Exams are difficult (no curve), but be sure to do ALL the eCoach extra credit and lecture clicker points because they add up in the end! Go to office hours every week and you'll do well!

Gunderson is the most amazing professor. She clearly wants her students to succeed, and she makes her lectures very clear and engaging. In stats, the material is not necessarily hard, but exams often try to trick you. Overall, if you can, take this class with Gunderson

Gunderson is wonderful. She is so sweet and concise, and is always prepared. Definitely the best lecturer for 250 and why I showed up to my 8:30 lecture twice a week. Beware of the exams, because the material can seem deceptively easy but the exams are hard. Go to GSI office hours for help!

Dont make the same mistake I did. I didnt study the HW well enough. Everything that will be on exams can be found in either the recommended HW, required HW, practice exams, or lecture example problems. STUDY ALL OF THOSE and you will do well!!!

Gunderson is the Stats professor that everyone wants; she runs the show for Stats 250. In theory, she is not all that enthralling, or at least I cannot point to anything. Yet, it works, perhaps because of how prepared she is. She could recite her lesson word-for-word without referencing her slides. The tests are pretty hard, so study hard!

Exams are very difficult because there isn't a curve. A lot of questions are very technical and you need to review terms very deeply/remember interpretations. I suggest highlighting important information in lecture notes and doing all the extra credit. Be thorough and study early for the exams.
