Franklin is very nice and encouraging. He is very willing to discuss any topic with you and increase your understanding on it. There was a lot of work and four meetings, but the topics were deep and fascinating. Although the final paper was very big, he cut it back five pages to make it easier on the students. Put in the work, reap the reward.

I absolutely hated this course. It was so boring. He asks you what you believe the poems are saying and even if you do as asked he still finds a way to belittle your work. On top of that he wanted us to create a 20pg portfolio and we didn't have a semesters worth of 20 pgs. He asks for too much with very little directions over all rating ZERO

Dr. Franklin was a great professor. His class demands a lot of reading and you need to put great thought into the writing assignments. He is always available to assist you with your assignments or interpreting the reading material. If you do not like to read, participate in class discussions or attend class then this class is not for you.

the topic was Moby Dick which i was not interested in. He made the class fun and interesting! He was really nice and easy to talk to. For an english class he made it interesting and worth going to. I actually learned. paper was hard and he grades papers rough but he will help you if you need it!

Dr Franklin is a pretty good prof. I was freaked out at first because the paper is 50% of the grade and he gives you no guidelines. However, if you're in his honors seminar I think he just gives you an A if you put some reasonable effort into the class.

Horrible Class!! I wanted to kill myself everytime I went..and he gave no grace days. I didn't read any of the books and ****ted the papers. He gives no guidelines for papers, but grades harshly. He is so scatter-brained and uses the word existential every two minutes and now i hate that word.

Worst teacher. Classes are incredibly boring. I had some interest in these novels before the class, but class was so unclear and hard to follow. Class is based on 3 papers, ABSOLUTEY NO GUIDELINES and super harsh grader. Do not take.

This guys is an excellent teacher, and he really engages the classroom. His reading assignments are a bit much, but his class is completely discussion and he values EVERYONE'S input. He's a great prof. However, he can be a little ambiguous about his assignments, but he is a light grader, very enthusiastic, and he will help if you ask.

Franklin is quite the character. My advice is too make yourself known to him and discuss your papers with him. The classes went by slowly and dragged until that day he slammed his fist on the board and talked about being fated in a world of pain and suffering.

I HATED this man, and he totally screwed me over with my grade. He loosely assigns 3 papers to complete before the end of the semester but gives you very little direction and grades VERY harshly. He's careful give you a letter grade rather than a percentage so he can ultimately give you whatever final grade he feels like.

Looking back, I liked this class. While I was in it was another story. Class is all discussion, so participate or you'll be very bored. Franklin is a very nice teacher, though, and is very receptive to what students have to say.

He is an extremely nice man who is willing and excited to help you however you may need help. He randomly raises his voice and get all excited in the middle of sentences, which is amusing. He is very encouraging to anyone who wants to comment in class. Class is usually REALLY boring though!

Awesome teacher. Just awesome. Looks at literature in a whole philosophical angle. A lot of books to read, but most of the class didn't read them all so don't worry. His lectures are awesome, very enthusiastic and theoretical about life. He makes you feel brilliant. Awesome and easy.

I found him to be very enthusiastic about teaching this class. He was quite strange though because he would pinch his nipples if he came excited about something that was being discussed. Can anyone else agree with me on this one? Over all he was a great and very entertaining teacher.
