Preposterous. In a good way. Very smart, but an easy grader; few papers or tests. It seems that the best way to do well is to get on his good side and STAY THERE, which isn't always easy to do. Doesn't beat around the bush, and if you do he'll call you out on it. Beyond profane and irreverant. Get him and Al Kelly in a room and you're set.

Great professor - really interested in the material and in listening to what students have to say. Don't piss him off by showing up late or missing class more than once; he can completely blow up unexpectedly. Expect to hear a lot of profanity and sexual humor...usually followed by his hearty laugh!

Rubino is completely insane and so much fun. Incredibly knowledgeable, but just dont ****him off. He once tried to strangle someone in class to demonstrate the difference between two latin verbs. He'll definitely keep you on your toes, but do your work and you'll stay on his good side.

Rubino is an engaging professor with an excellent depth of knowledge in all things greco-roman -from strict history and language to contemporary allusions in media and film he imparts well his unique perspective. Passionate, helpful, and no-nonsense.

Professor Rubino rocks my socks. If you like a healthy helping of profanity, Rubino is your guy. Opinionated and tends to be a bit scary at times. If you're on his good side though, you're safe. A lot of reading, few if any papers and fair quizzes. Great!

What a great prof. His class was a complete joy and I learned a tremendous amount from him. I actually felt bad (and it looked like he did too) when I had to drop another class of his the following semester. Everyone should have a course with Rubino
