There are only three tests in the class, and a group project. Literally just show up and listen and you can get an A. The tests are 25 questions each and you have to justify why you put each answer, but he'll count anything. Super easy and would 10/10 take again!

Comment:

Dr. Scavo is a very helpful professor. POLS 3031 is a very dry and boring class by the nature of the material. He attempts to make it as interesting as possible but there's not much hope there. Workbook assignments, 2 exams, a research proposal and a group project make up the grade. I really didn't enjoy the class but that wasn't because of him.

His lectures are pretty boring, and his tests are hard. Theres only a midterm and final, and 2/3 of the class got a C or lower. He makes his political leanings apparent.

BEST TEACHER AT ECU. He is an awesome teacher he really cares about you and learning. He has helped me more then any other teacher. Easiest class ever. Hes very fair and really knows what hes talking about. i would recommend this class to anyone and everyone. This was my favorite class i have taken at ecu so far. Thank you Mr . Scavo!!!

This is one of the few classes i looked forward to going to. He makes politics very interesting to learn, he tells a lot of story about random stuff but their very interesting and funny and are usually associated with the topic. He tells you exactly what you need to study for the test and this class is very easy to pass by just taking good notes.

Knows alot about politics, likes to express his opinion.Goes off topic alot,still good though.Lectures are posted on line in powerpoint,don't help to much on tests,read book, know all terms.Tests are 25 vocab words definition and importance.Very easy class.You have to write a paper, but its easy, reflects a congressman.Just study 4 tests!

Dr. Scavo is great. I really enjoyed his class, and the loved the fact that it didn't require much work. Just go to class and do the study guides for exams and you will be fine. Group project and individual paper isn't that bad either. I will def. take him again if possible.

This guy could spend the whole class time telling stories. But the class is interesting at times. He is a really cool guy though and grades very easily. Look out for a group project, 10-page paper, and stressful exams (even though he gives a complete study guide)!

Great Teacher. I had a lot of fun in his class. Very funny and interesting. Tells lots of stories from his college days and past. Tests are essay and IDs and you have to do a paper. Group prokect is easy. Does take attendance but not every day.

Scavo's classes are generally pretty entertaining, filled with many personal stories and some useful material now and again. He grades fairly, although you may not recieve your grades until the semester is finished (procrastinator!!).

Scavo sucks. Period. He has no attendance policy, which is good, but when you do go to class, he'll yap on for the whole time, and you still have no clue what he's talking about. Grades as if you already have a PhD in poly sci.
