Her grading criteria for her papers are non existent she does not tell what she expects or would like in them. She takes points off for every little mistake. Technically attendance does not count, but she does take attendance and she probably uses it to cater your grade to her liking. Lectures are very boring and she talks in a slow low tone.

This professor is professional and knows her material. I honestly admire her passion and thoughtfulness towards her students. It is true that she just lectures the entire time, but if you actually listen to what she says for this class then it will help you for your papers and exams. 2 papers, 2 exams, not that hard unless you're a bad writer.

Very nice lady. the class is boring though because she just reads her notes on literary pieces. Everyone skips but just make sure to hand in your papers. The paper topic questions are very simple and straight forward. DO NOT BUY THE BOOKS!!!! you can find all of the books on google or sparknotes. Also, she does proofread before papers are due

She is really old school. She sits at her desk during every lecture for the entire 80 minutes of class. She is very boring and I caught myself dozing off a few times. However, she is smart, and always smiles while she is teaching so I liked her as a person. I thought I did terrible in the course because she is harsh grader but I got away with a B.

Heffernan is extremely old school, which can be off-putting for some. You don't need to read the books she assigns, as her lectures are straight lecture. I bought a new laptop midway through the semester, and used that to research for other courses/daydream. She's an incredibly smart lady and the class is easy.

Women in Med Lit.One of the easiest B's I ever got. If your looking for a class to boost your GPA, this is the one. Professor Heffernan is extremely nice, and tolerates a lot. There are 4 take home essays, and one in class essay. NO midterm or Final. I did none of the readings just the essays and walked away with a grade I did hardly any work for.

She is BORING!!! She takes attendance but her syllabus leaves no room for attendance to hurt you. She said it will only help you if you're on the edge of a grade. I LITERALLY didn't read one of the 8 books she assigned and got a B. Everything is on the internet and summarized. Take this course because it is VERY easy to get by.

Really boring, smiles all the time. Yet doesnt give fair grades. I deserved better than a B- for that essay! I dont think an A is possible. This professor will seriously feel like she's your grandmother or something. You don't really even have to show up to class, and her voice is so soft and cheery that she does put you to sleep, but you will feel guilty doing so. It's pretty easy to get a B in this class as long as you have done a little bit of your own reading and write decently.
