Mike Phillips is awesome! Definitely one of my favorite educators I have ever experienced! If I had the opportunity, I would definitely take another one of his classes. He's hilarious, and excellent at explaining material to the class. He also offers plenty of EC. "Rocks are your friends."

At first I took this class to get out of a physics rotation and fiened interest, but then this truly gneiss guy got me interested IN ROCKS. No schist! He gave me the upper hand in arguing with my bro in SD over what we were looking at and he never once stared at my cleavage!

Mike is a great teacher. He tries to be funny so laugh because he would laugh for you. If you have questions just ask for help cause he will help you. The lab will also help you. Great teacher. Really nice guy! Loved his class!! I was going to be his "junior geologist" as he said. Very passionate about what he teaches. Loved the field trips. Don't smoke around him!! He'll give you a hard time.
