Amazing books, amazing lectures, overall loved this class and would take her again in a heart beat. Always available to help and very lenient. I took Professor Hintz's #WeNeedDiverseBooks in YA Lit course. She assigned fantastic novels which were all available at the local library. You are required to come up with 3 discussion questions along with your final paper. Final paper assignment isn't totally clear but she is available to answer any questions via email.

Prof Hintz is very fair and is willing to extend deadlines if you are experiencing trouble with paper topics. As long as she see's you are working and you are committed she does everything in her power to help. Conversations were interesting and she really listened to her students comments...!!!

Not an awful teacher, but she if she's experiencing issues outside of the class, sometimes the students are the one to pay. I would take her again, I think that she just had a stressful semester (Who doesn't?)

Some interesting reading. Prof. provided some valuable insight into children's lit. Discussions wandered WAY off topic sometimes. One student,(on meds)with a variety of wacky input, often killed discussions. Easy papers.

Like the maladroit adjunct Cassvan this prof pretty much allowed an obnoxious self important crocheting pajama wearing wannabe actress student who frequents Ren. faires & was absent frequently to use the class as a forum to foist her know it all opinions in class discussions doesn't cut it. Prof. needs work in classroom management.

Loved her. She's passionate & caring & class was facinating. Though discussions were a bit unguided, they would have been more of a problem had she made us take exams. Class work includes 4 papers - No midterm or final. Made me look at children's lit from an entirely new perspective. You'll read many short books - Some are even picture books.

Definitely the best english professor I've taken at QC! The novels and discussions were very interesting. She is very understanding and knowledgable about the subject. I really enjoyed the class and hope to take her again sometime. The papers were challenging but fun to write about. She is a fair grader too.
