Comment:

This guy is a disaster; avoid at ALL costs. Disorganized, arrogant, and disrespectful. Assignment expectations are not clearly stated, students are reprimanded for asking questions, and then you lose points for not meeting them. HW is emphasized but the exams do not assess understanding of material. Midterm was posted late. Waste of a class.

Disorganized. Our 8 week summer session started two weeks late. Moodle was never right. Questions appeared on the quizzes that weren't taught until later chapters. Professor didn't respond to half of the questions from students and took over a week to respond to others. Final grades still aren't calculated a week after semester ended.

On-line class. Lectures are missing -- I questioned it. I was told that everything is there. There were LOTS of questions not covered in the book or lectures on both tests. I can only assume they were in the missing lectures. 5 group projects -- 0 individual projects. WORST PROFESSOR AT NJIT!

He is very intelligent, difficult to see at that first partly due to his accent. Make sure he knows you in class. It is very important that he remembers you as he will reward you for work efforts even if you did't initially receive a high mark, so don't be despaired. He is a professor that truly cares about his students, wants to see us succeed.

TERRIBLE. I am not one to say the teacher gives you a grade you earn but with this guy he does just that. Terrible lessons the most ridiculous group project and to top it off he is arrogant please avoid at all costs.

Do not take MGMT 316 with proff Sylla! He is an awful teacher even though he does know the material. You do not learn anything but at the end you are expected to know tons of info, especially statistics. There are no directions to any assignments so you have to figure everything out on your own.

Comment:

The nature of the Quantitative Analysis is tough. Dr. Sylla does have a heavy accent and takes a while to get used to. However, he is most eager to help when you have any issues with the class. His test are very tough, but it could be the course itslef. There are a lots of case studies to read and papers. He will reward you for your efforts.

this class is very boring, you have 5 assignments and u get the answers in solution manual, the exams are open book, you have 2 exams the mid term and final. study a night before exam its enough to get an easy A. The class is entirely on probability and maths. i have attend only 1/4 of the classes and still got an A. So just study before the exam.

He is VERY unorganized. I was very upset with this class. He told students that he has no time, very nice to hear from a class of gratuate students. He does not teach the subject well. Decided not to use the textbook the second half of the semester. Never delivered on time.

Very helpful but demanding professor. Gives out manageable assignments and is generous in grading them. Very considerate and always willing to help out students. Overall, a very good professor.

By far the worst professor I've ever had. Extremely difficult to follow and understand. Doesn't care if his students learn anything. Too lazy to even grade assignment to provide feedback. How are people like this even given a teaching job? Avoid this guy at all costs.

Note: I have never once complained about a professor... Sylla is a nice guy who seems to know the material but is a god awful teacher. Extremely difficult to follow and does not involve the class at all.Zzzz.. I could go on for days about how awful this guy is. Its professors like this that continue to keep NJIT atop the 'worst professors' list.

Not a bad professor, but expect a lot of work. It's possible to get an A or B in the class as long as you do the work but be prepared to work for it. All work is done in groups and he gives TONS of papers for your group to write.

I can not say enough about how great Professor Sylla is. Very decent, and open minded, very rich in his knowledge and writing style and skills. very analytic and appreciative. Do not be discourage by other ratings. Good ratings are much less than bad ones that is the nature of most surveys. I would sign up for any class he teaches. High Quality

Professor is extremely open minded, objective, very encouraging. very polite, very decent, very fair yet very generous. He reads your work and enjoys it positively never negatively, highlighting your good efforts and thoughts. I would sign up for any of his classes without hesitation but I hope he teaches many more classes. ***Excellent***
