She obviously knows her stuff; she's a very intelligent woman. BUT! She is a truly mean and spiteful person. She would smile when telling the class how poorly they performed on tests and would call people out by full name for "using their phone," even when they aren't. Questions are met with condescending attitude. Don't. Find a nice professor.

First off, Dr. Hughes is very intelligent and is a subject matter at Learning and Behavior. With that said, I took this class as a challenge to prove wrong to the naysayers. However, I was wrong and it the most difficult class to earn an A, unless you have all the time in the world to focus on just her class. Really, find another instructor.

She drops your three lowest quiz grades and gives you clicker points regardless of whether you get the question right, but her exams are impossible. The study guides are so large you can't pick out what she's going to test you on. Powerpoints don't help much either. Lectures are okay, but she seems really cold and detached.

She's okay. I found her lectures to be boring. Tests are really easy! You do have to come to class because she does clickers for participation. She also gives quizzes due before almost every class. Super annoying because they are easy to forget. Not bad, not great either. You will use the book a lot and it's not too tough to make an A.

I would not recommend her at all. She does not care about her students and she does not answer questions in class. Her lectures are long and confusing. The PowerPoint is not helpful for studying for the tests. Overall bad class.

The syllabus is about 12 pages long.. I should have taken that as a sign to run in the first place. No matter how hard you try on her papers, she will NEVER give 100% to anyone; there is always something wrong (including essay answers on tests). Not understanding of extenuating circumstances whatsoever, she is cold. Expects graduate level work.

She teaches this class in too hard of a fashion. She has study guides but they are the most lengthy ones you will ever come across for a 200 level. She gives notes on slides for you to download but you have to attend class to complete the notes, and the way 70% of the slides are formatted, its impossible to copy what you see exactly. Tests = Hard

so organized and clear. she made us study guides and put them on blackboard. the book is essential. everyone can take retake exams to improve their grades. if you do the work you'll get an A... if you don't do the work, you can't BS through. you also shouldn't skip class because there are pop quizzes.

Attendance not mandatory, but she does random quizzes. Also, its very hard to learn the info w/o being there. Sometimes she talks fast and I get lost. She also can be snippy if you ask a "dumb question". The tests are tricky, but she does makeup tests and they are MUCH easier. Overall, she knows her stuff & gives you a chance to do well

She is tough but fair. Attendance is not mandatory but it's a good idea to be there and be on time bc she gives quizzes randomly first thing. The information isn't easy but she is great at explaining and giving examples in lecture. She also offers additional study sessions and office hours. theres really no excuse to do poorly

If you want to fail a class, this is the professor to have. It is IMPOSSIBLE to make perfect points on her papers, she gives quizzes every class, and expects you to know the material like it's a graduate course. She also loves making it impossible to get a good grade and I ended up learning more for the TA than from her.

The amount of time you put in will determine your grade, i worked hard and learned alot. She is willing to help but can seem intimidating. She is very smart and wants her students to hold themselves to high standards. She is strict about some things but it just makes you learn how to do it the right way- like APA format.

I honestly couldn't stand being a student in her class. The lectures are fine and even the tests are ok, but you will never know where you lose points on papers or anything else for that matter. It seems that she wants you to do things exactly the way that she would, and any other way isn't just wrong but ignorant and stupid.

Dr. H is the best professor I've ever had. She is hard, but that is only because she gives you every opportunity to learn the material and doesn't accept excuses if you choose not to. The only reason people don't like here is b/c you have to work for a good grade in that class.Best there is atUNCW

Dr. H is extremely challenging - you most definitely have to study. Her expectations are high but should you attempt these courses you will learn a lot. She is always willing to help in any way. 355 better than 350.

SHe can be intimidating if you don't know her well but she is a very nice person to talk to. Lectures are inetersting and she keeps your attention. Very smart, knows what she's doing.

Very smart woman.Gone for now,but she'll be back.Once you get over your fear of her tests, you'll start to realize her courses are only as hard as you make them.Material is simple, but she has high standards for students.Don't just study-understand it!
