I had Dr. Otto for Marine Biology. He is a great guy & very understanding. We took a class trip to Dauphin Island, it was super fun even though it rained most of the time we were there. If you are out of shape I don't take Marine Biology, he will have you walking for miles up the beach. Study & listen to what he says and you will pass.

If you don't understand studying life (ie biology) then you probably won't understand. If you do, on the other hand, you'll never forget this professor. I took many of his courses and got my degree from athens state prior to joining the military. Inspirational teacher!

Dr. Otto's class is hard because their is a lot of information, and you don't have much direction on what to study. His test are mostly short answer which requires you to know the information very well. Spend a lot of time studying and you will get a good grade and learn a lot of information.

Great Teacher! I took his classes years ago and am quite surprised he is still around. If he talks over your head, it's your own fault. He answered, in detail, every question I ever had. He has a passion for biology and to share his knowledge with others. If you were there to learn, not just for credit hours, you got more than your money's worth.

Dr. Otto really enjoys science and tries to impart that love of science to his students. The class is not easy but you could do the bare minimum and still get a C. If you study the notes, read the book and answer the review questions prior to the test, you'll have no problem. It was a great class and I learned alot.

Dr. Otto is a very educated professor. Sometimes he is just too smart to understand. But you can tell him you don't understand and he will work with you until you do get it. He also is very hands on. We went and were wading in a creek fishing (it was soo fun).

Best damn professor I ever had. Toughest classes I ever had (and I have an engineering degree from another university). This was the first guy to challenge me intellectually and one of the only classes that gave me my money's worth.

Dr. Otto is very smart and nice, but his classes are really hard though. I studied for many hours for one of the tests and still didn't do very well on it. And another time no one made an A, and there were only 3 Bs. He seems pretty fair and will help you if you ask, he is just a hard professor.

This is a tough subject and Dr. Otto did not make this class interesting for me. Labs were somewhat disapointing due to the department's lack of proper equipment.
