Comment:
Do your readings! The TAs Dr Viger chose are a excellent. Dr Viger is a good lecturer and is knowledgeable, but he sometimes uses examples that are quite sciency. I understood them but I could see how others might not. However, Philosophy of Mind is grounded in neuroscience anyway so only take this if you have some science background.

A lot of reading. Not a great lecturer; not structured and all over the place. Chooses good TAs. On of the harder 2nd year Philosophy courses.

Viger is an amazing prof. He really cares about his students and uploads all the presentations with a voice over as well as class notes before each lecture. Weekly quizzes were SUPER helpful and the readings are easy. His lectures are less intimidating than most full year courses because of the chill environment. Probably one of my fav profs!

This class very beneficial for me. It is challenging at times, but it is attainable to get a good grade in this course. If you ever are confused, ask him and he will clearly explain it for you. Has amazing TA's which are super duper helpful if you cannot go to his office hours. The weekly practice questions are easy marks and are helpful for exams.

I had him at 9:30 MWF for phil. of mind and he pumped out 1-3 readings in 50 minutes, he's punctual and intelligent and chooses good TA's, easy enough to get a 75%. Just go to class.

Comment:
Very disorganized. No concern for student time or schedules. 30% of essay grade has more to do with how well classmates did rather than if you produce good work. Lots of tiny assignments, plus an essay, plus a mid-term, plus an exam. You will do more work for this class than most others. Emphasis on task completion over actual understanding.

Amazing teacher, really smart, which makes him extremely intimidating! He tries his best to make class interesting and makes a lot of connections. He speaks really fast and expects everyone to be on the same page as him from the start, which is absolutely nuts since he is a genius. Philosophy of religion is not his forte but he did an amazing job!

He's a really smart guy but I don't think this course showed that part of him. His class was a little mundane, but he did include some LSAT prep sessions, which came in handy for a few of the students!

Great Prof!! Funny guy, course wasn't that interesting, but he did his best to make it interesting. The anecdotes helped, and his lecture notes were very organized and clear. The lecture notes made the assignments super easy! I barely even opened the textbook...totally unnecessary! Exams were pretty simple...the only thing tough was diagramming.

Oh my god.. anyone wanting to take the accelerated logic course he teaches... beware! Ridiculously tedious course... homework everyweek... although the class subject matter is relativley easy - the overall homework and tests and exams were definitley beyond was taught. Nice guy though.

Don't know why everyone seems to hate this course, I really like it and think he explains the material very well. He's got such a geeky sense of humour, it's hilarious! (more "at" than "with", but he's funny nonetheless, as long as you're enjoying class it's all good)
