He is a very good teacher. Very hard to pass his class. His papers are also hard to write. although attendance is not mandatory I would recommend going to class to receive a good grade. He gives study guides for his exams, if you study the study guide you should do ok. I would recommend taking this class if you are ok with a challange

Fantastic class. Prof is very clear about his expectations, makes the class enjoyable and moves forward evenly. He really made class interesting, and conversation style. It was a lecture class, but he tried to use students' voices as often as possible. Loved this class. Highly recommend Sean's classes.

Very interesting class! Sean lays out everything you need to know and teaches is marvelously. May be one of the finest teachers at this university. He's more than a professor, he helps with construction of papers, comprehension of concepts, and keeps the class upbeat and hilarious. Stayed during a snow storm until 7:30, it was that interesting!

Great down to earth guy who's really helpful. For being just a survey course I thought the class was difficult. There was a lot of reading, but a midterm, term paper, and final really wasn't too bad. Try and develop a good grasp of the material and ask questions because he'll always help you out. Get as much help as you can and you will do well.

I had him for a college requirement and I found myself studying more for this class than my nursing classes. It is very reading intensive and you don't even have to go to class to pass. As long as you do the readings in the book you will be okay. The notes you take in class do not coincide with the tests.

I took several classes with Prof. Goodlett. All his classes are heavy reading, and some of the books are difficult to get through. However, Prof. Goodlett brings a great deal of enthusiasm for the subjects he teachers. He definitely makes the discussions interesting and will push you in the right direction if you need help. Excellent professor.

History of Pol. Theory - class discussion focused, lots (and i mean LOTS) of reading, he knows his stuff - so go ahead and ask questions. He'll talk the text over until you feel confident, but has little patience (seemingly) for people who don't read/work. Flex. deadlines on papers.

Great class, French history is something he really knows about. He gives alot of information and alot of notes but if you write down what he says the tests will be easy. Give lots of detail thats what he's looking for. Great teacher!

He is very academic, I got sick of hearing about the "Essential issues" and I think he is a litle too cerebal, but he means well, in the end he is fair and consistent. Cant' ask for much more.

Outstanding teacher. *Tests: just study the most major, heard-of people and events (Renaissance, Enlightenment, Copernicus, Galileo, etc.) in detail. ***Essays: if you are stuck, go in during office hours. You will really learn how to think and how to write. He showed me how to deliver intelligent commentary on a topic instead of BS my way around.

A very nice and intelligent professor. The entire course consists of taking notes from the SMART board. 2 tests and 2 papers for the entire semester. Tests are difficult but he grades fairly. Don't be too hesistant to take his class.

if you're a history major, you're doing yourself a dis-service by *not* taking one of his classes. extremely intelligent guy, gives oodles of notes, but what do ya want? its history. he designed the school's S.M.A.R.T classrooms, so you're garunteed a 60 inch plasma TV to take notes from in class. Can be intimidating at first. Technology kept me interested with interative maps and what not. Lots of material to know for the tests and only two per semester (plus two papers).
