Comment:

Have 2 exams, 4 quizzes which count as class participation, and 1 simulation which make up your grade. Simulation is difficult no matter how smart you are and requires a lot of time. Exam's are difficult as lectures he tends to ramble thus making it unknown what the exam will be on. Exams are similar year to year.

Comment:

This man is a pain for every business major, and he knows it and takes pride in it. He is arrogant, lazy, and likes to watch students struggle. You must teach yourself everything because he just rambles, and there's tons of material. Studying is almost pointless; you never know what will appear on tests or quizzes. Suck up to him and hope you pass.

This class is tough. The lectures are very difficult to follow along with and the supplementary reading material is also difficult / he doesn't directly talk about readings during the lectures. It is hard to study for this class because of this. The glo-bus project is manageable. He gives partial credit on test questions which is a life-saver.

Comment:

BusinessPolicy is one of the toughest business classes at Trinity University, up there with Financial Policy and SMF. Most students complain that the class is too difficult for non-finance majors, but in reality the material covered is as complex as introFNCE class. Read ahead of class, ask for help and understand the concepts, don't just memorize.

Dr Waldron is the worst educator I have ever sat under. He spends 45 min to an hour of his hour and 15 min class repeating himself and talking about how important he/his class is. He makes fun of students to their faces and openly revels in their suffering. Only thing I learned was how to crash a company for short term profit. Inconsistent grading

If you don't have a really strong Finance background, this course will be a struggle no matter how hard you work. As someone who is only doing a BA in business (and only took intro to Finance), I found most of the info way over my head. Classes are useless, readings confusing, went to office hours multiple times and so unhelpful.

Comment:

Although I disliked his teaching style, I really liked this class. It brings all of the different aspects of business together. Those who have a strong finance or accounting background have an advantage. I got an A, but I've never worked so hard for a class! Take Glo-Bus seriously, don't buy the ebook, and you're going to need Rappaport.

I thought it'd only be fair for me to write this review a year after I've taken the course. While Dr. Waldron is actually a cool guy, the class's purpose came up short as I can't remember one useful thing I learned, making it one of two classes I took that I consider completely useless.

Hard class, and not in a good way. This course does not push you the way a difficult but useful class would. While Dr. Waldron is surprisingly charismatic and funny at times, he does not seem to be very interested in teaching. Tests are based off hardly-covered material, textbook is difficult to understand and classes are not helpful to attend.

This professor makes his students learn from a 12-yr-old revision of a book written over 30 years ago. His explanations of things are so incomprehensible as to be useless. If they do make sense, though, he speaks to you condescendingly. Good luck on his tests, which are 99% subjective, and the Business Simulation (almost 50% of your final grade)!

Hard class but tests are mostly on the relationships of how things relate. Dont miss class cuz quizzes count for participation (you get a 50 just for showing up). Went to office hours & he didnt answer the question I asked but his answer helped on the final (so if he does that to you, write it down anyway). So what if hes scary, its only 1 semester

Ok, so the horror stories are pretty accurate. He enjoys scaring the hell out of his students, so don't let it. He loves to hear himself talk, and is quite entertaining. The class is all about your attitude. knew nothing about business, and worked reasonably hard in policy and did pretty well. He doesn't incorporate grade on final to actual grade

Hard yes. Impossible? Hardly. If you actually do the reading and read the background materials on Blackboard that he mentions in class, this class is pretty easy to get a handle on. If you slept through Finance and Accounting, you're screwed, but Policy is a great course that brings everything together.

This guy is a pretty worthless prof. His tests have questions you know the answers to - but there is too much material to finish in time. So the tests do not even gauge how much students know. Class and reading is boring, no discussion. Not learning anything. Class is pretty much a GPA killer and waste of time - thanks a lot waldron.

I've always been a straight A student, but this class was impossible. I studied for countless hours and was attentive in every class, but still came out with a C. I think 99% of the students have a C in the end. The paper's easy but he will give you extra credit points if you give a good presentation-this will go towards your final that you'll fail

Clearly a v. hard class, he picks on commuter students and singles them out especially on quiz days. V. Unreasonable, but tries to be your best friend outside of class. Clearly just an unethical **** cause he flunks everyone on the final to justify flunking anyone he pleases and creates his own grading scale-good luck don't miss any classes.

Everyone is scared of this class, but it isn't really that hard. you just have to know which work you really have to do. He tells you what is going to be on the tests during class so you just have to go and learn it. he's cocky but i thought that it was funny. a lot of people dont' like him but i thought he was good. Creating shareholder value was just about the only assignments you did have to do. and you take int'l mgmt with him it goes well with policy
