I dont like markstrat. But Darren Dahl is really a good prof. Even he only a guest speaker in my class, he really a fun and helpful guy. His class is really lively and his personality is really attractive. I will really recommend this prof to any marketing student, TAKE THIS PROF!!

Darren is probably my overall favorite prof at UBC. He's a really funny guy and it helps class participation and involvement in the case summaries. He also understands what is important in teaching a course. My only knock on him is he seemed to pick on the same couple students for no apparent reason and that his jokes could be taken offense to.

I'm so sick of people who say that Darren is a good teacher.He sucks so-so much.At least Dan Gardiner is open about being a jerk. But Darren pretends to be nice, while really, the cases and the exam are marked on a very subjective basis. And Markstrat does not measure knowledge or skill AT ALL. I did well, but still, it's a very inferior simulation

Darren is a great guy. He livens up the class with relevant stories that are usually relevant to some business concept, and prompts students to think about how they would handle themselves in business situations. The cases are a great way to apply what you have learned and to familiarize yourself with real life situations and outcomes.

What Can I say? Darren is Good Stuff. Young professor who is understanding and livens up the class. Great all round prof. Totally recommend!!! And for those who say MarkStrat sucks, I say you suck! The fact that you didn't finish 1st means you suck. MarkStrat is totally fun. Makes you think!

Dahl totally reminds you of Chandler from friends. He is a great prof, and tries to keep things interesting. Markstrat gets to be pretty fun after a while... but dont buy the book.. if you need to borrow someones to read it, but i barely touched it

Markstrat may not be fun but Dahl is the best prof you'll encounter in Marketing. Totally funny, his class is like watching an episode of friends. Really nice, willing to help out and easy to get along with.
