Dave was a hard teacher. If you showed up to class and took detailed notes (highly recommend voice recording) you would do fine. Just because he's a tough teacher does not make him a poor teacher. He is knowledgeable, consistent, honest and will help you should you ASK for it.

His grading methods are harsh, no matter how much effort i put into my work I will always receive a low score. I'm a student who averages A's and B's in my English and writing classes, however, i ended up with a "D" at the end of this course.(Highly NOT RECOMMENDED!)

When he would explain things he would just keep repeating himself, he wouldn't try to find any other way to explain one idea. He uses an odd grading scale, although he does use a curve he is still a difficult teacher. Be thankful if you get a "B" in his class...

** BY FAR THE HARDEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD** but at the same time... THE BEST!!!!! He is a very tough grader, if it wasn't for me taking his class.... I wouldn't be getting A's on my papers right now. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Especially if you LOVE a challenge : )

Pretty difficult class. Hard tests. Instructor is knowledgeable but is a hard grader! This class was pretty stressful. Not very sympathetic but then again we are not in elementary school. Other than those things a very useful class with a knowledgeable instructor.

Very smart professor, has VERY high expectations. However class is interesting and educational. I learned sooo much in that class. Tests are very hard. Doesn't always answer questions, goes off on tangents A LOT.

Dave grades on a curve, thank God. His tests are pretty hard but if you participate and show up to class you should be okay. He isn't very focused though and gets off track a lot.

The only prob was the he teaches mass media but doesn't even own a TV!! he even doesn't like computers and doesn't use the internet!! wow hes quite the mass media guy..not!. neways class wasnt too bad, nice guy

i don't really like him... he assumes things about people and i don't feel he is very competent in this class. he SPEAKS in fll-in-the-blank sentences. very irritating because sometimes its not clear where he is going with a subject and he gets frusterated because the class isn't saying the EXACT word he is thinking about.
