Fantastic professor and makes you interested in the topic. Test questions can be a bit tricky, but this isn't on purpose (they're just a little vague). If you don't take a class with Prof. Small you're missing out, super funny and passionate.

Prof Small is a super guy; very knowledgeable about the field of archaeology and it shows in his lectures and presentations. Passionate, friendly, funny, down to earth and accessible outside of class. He cares about his students. Best Anth prof at Lehigh. Take any number of his classes and you will be glad you did.

Absolutely the man, 100%, just took his ANTHRO 012 final today. Chillest teacher I have ever had at lehigh, super funny, and he doesn't surprise his students. Great dude, also a genius.

David Small is my favorite professor at Lehigh, I have taken all my humanities credits with him. His lectures are easy to sit through and the material isnt so bad. Grading guidelines are super fair and clear. If you can't get an A or high B in his classes you might be braindead.

Dont learn anything. Used to give out As, now gives out low Bs for no reason. Does not really grade any of the work you do. Assigns lots of papers to do even tho he hardly teaches.. just AWFUL

Best class. Fri classes are cancelled right away..only homework is this computer thing thats due at the end of the semester (can finish it in a week)..and halfway through the semester, he cancels all lectures and just requires you dig during a "lab" time once a week. Take this class.

The class is easy, yet it's easy NOT to get an A. Given the inconceivably lax nature of this class, one would be very tempted to bs his/her way through, only to be dissapointed grade-wise in the end. Therefore, one has to ACTUALLY work hard to get an A (or A-).

Comment:

"It's a Mysterious World" is by far the best and easiest freshman seminar. The class is only graded out of three papers (no tests or out of class work) Prof Small treats it as a seminar rather than a real class. He is very knowledgable and most of class is filled with discussion or watching an interesting movie. Easy class, a must take.

This guy changed my life. He is genuine and willing to go the distance to help his students. He is not one to hold himself superior, but instead treats students as equals. I am forever grateful to Dr. Small for his support and friendship. He teaches students to think for themselves and learn through experience. Great Guy All Around!

Fantastic, easy going professor. Show up to class and take good lecture notes and you will do great. Very helpful. He is an great example of how professors should conduct themselves and their classes.
