Comment:

Dr. Dolly gets a bad rep for being scatterbrained but that mainly comes from students who don't engage with her. Ask her anything about the topic and she will hit you with so many facts and data you would think she was a computer.

Comment:

I can't think of anyone more knowledgeable than Dr. Dolly. People complain about her being disorganized when in reality she is clear of her expectations and for some reason people think that not being stressed out by arbitrary assignments is indicative of a bad professor. If people asked her more questions they would know so much.

Dr. Dolly is an great professor. She comes off a little disorganized, but it mostly feels that way because having a professor who cares about you and how much you gain from a class above arbitrary grading can be a little jarring (I guess). Prepare for some heavy reading and involved discussions and you should be fine. Test material isn't a surprise

Dr. Dolly is very unorganized. She's unclear about what will be on tests, and will include things from class discussion. She really knows her stuff, but can't stay on topic for more than a minute. If you want to do well in her class, memorize all the readings and hope for the best.

If you can avoid her, do. Mullen doesn't give clear instructions, changes dates without informing you, and usually assigns a chapter a night. She is flighty and can never finish sentences and has a 5 minute rule meaning if the class discusses something for 5 minutes or more it's free game for exams. She has no Moodle page, so no grades are known.

Comment:

Dolly Mullen is a great professor to go to talk to or to get advice, however is a rather scattered teacher. Her syllabus doesn't give you a clear understanding of the class and she assigns tests and quizzes randomly. The questions on tests and quizzes can be detailed oriented and makes them quite challenging. Overall she's a scattered professor.

Prof. Mullen is a fun person, and you'll enjoy taking her courses. She knows a ton about the subjects she teaches, and she's always available after class if you need clarification, or just want to riff with her.

She has interesting things to say, but much of that is lost in delivery. She is often so unprepared for class that it is embarrassing. In a different class she regularly stopped professors passing in the hallway to come in and explain things to the class.

She is a very sweet lady who has been teaching for far too long. She is very disorganized and she often is incorrect in the information she gives the class. She seems reluctant (stubborn?) to recognize her inability with the subject, and the class suffers for it.

I would not suggest anyone to take this class. At first, I was interested in this class and now it's by far my least favorite class that I've ever taken. She is very unclear about will be on exams (which are ridiculous and all short answer) and refuses to give any kind of study guide.

At first I loved this class. The material was really interesting. However, this was a transfer class, which from what I was told, was supposed to be somewhat easy. It is anything but. Be prepared to memorize every article and be able to give examples. Tests are insane. Avoid this teacher if you want to keep your gpa up!

horrible. tests a beyond random and unclear and she does not give you any knowledge on how to prepare for them. she is a really awesome lady and really nice and i enjoy going to her class but the tests are extremely unfair

A nice woman, but kind of crazy. Often showed up to class not knowing waht she assigned or with the wrong assignment. Gives nasty teasts but grades a lot on participation so always always always speak up in class. Conservatives beware...

This class was terrible. It remains my least favorite, and I took it last year. Dr. Dolly is unorganized and her tests reflect that. She is more off-topic than on. She misses class often. She is a sweet woman but a horrible professor.

Not really sure what all the hype is about. I had high expectations for this class and have been nothing but let down. Mullen asserts her bias any chance she can... I agree with half of what she says and her liberal slant still pisses me off. I do not believe that she is a fair grader. She has clear favorites. A word to the wise, take the Mr.
