Don is an amazing prof! Not only is he passionate about teaching, he knows what he is talking about. He is always available after class to answer questions, and explains things in a way you can relate to. I hated french before taking it with don, and have now switched my minor to french! Thanks Don!

Professor Schweyer is a very helpful teacher who is passionate about his job. There wasn't one day he wasn't smiling. Didn't use the textbook at all, and the class was a bit difficult, however he was always there to help and answer questions in a way that his students could understand and relate to. I definitely recommend taking a class with Don!

Excellent instructor who clearly enjoys teaching! Those who complain about his focus on grammar do not realize that he is helping you build a solid foundation for further study of French. If you are only in his class as a requirement or you were looking for a GPA booster, then the problem lies with your motivation, not the quality of instruction.

This professor is a great professor for very advanced students who already have a strong background in french. He spends WAY too much time focusing on grammar and minor fine details rather than a basic structure. He is not suitable for beginners. My whole class struggled with him and I think 3 people passed out of 30? 1st years-NOT RECOMMENDED.

HE IS THE BEST THERE EVER IS/WAS!! I learned a lot through him. did both FR101 and FR102 with him. He is the best. Things to take note: every other week he gives out a vocab list in two sections to cover most of the verbs and vocabs taught and used in class, he mostly gives the quiz on fridays and wed. Second.his exams are in 3 to 5 sections, he wi

It's years since I've had him, and I miss him! So friendly and fun. I have quite an extensive French background, and he simply teaches in a slightly different way; it has nothing to do with one's experience in the language. I sooo recommend him!

He only likes the students that he has had the whole year, very confussing, and teaches the class like an english class, not a language class for beginners.

You will do fine in the class so long as you have no previous experience in French. He teaches the class as though it is an english class rather then a language. Too much grammer and not enough verbal content.
