Had to take a science class with Johnson due to the graduation requirements. I will admit science is not my forte nor is it really that appealing to me; however, Professor Johnson did a fantastic job making the content easy to understand. He also did well in explaining and making things clear. Quizzes were all based on class activities. Great job!

Within the first week I was in love with the class and within the first month I had added it as my major. He tends to lecture quickly but if you pay attention the class should be no problem. Has a peculiar sense of humor, in a good way. Homework/ tests are fairly easy but he makes you earn your grade. Interactive, fun, interesting and engaging.

Cool guy, knows his stuff. Needs a class on professionalism, though. He would not show up for class, and didn't e-mail a cancellation. Also didn't show up or cancel his office hours the day an exam was due. Once let a guy interrupt class just to say, "Hi." Not very good at lectures, either. I'm paying to learn meteorology, please teach it.

Professor Johnson is a big rock dork (in a good way) who makes a basic science requirement into the most fun you will have all year. Between the hikes, fun labs and insane stories you will find yourself getting excited about geology too even if you hated it coming in. He is a genuinely kind person who is just a pleasure to be around.
