Took him for boring Plato course, since our original professor got fired. His expectations are too high for a required elective on papers and exams.

He makes otherwise boring topics interesting through stories and wittiness. You ll learn a lot and despite some comments I have seen here, he does welcome students' inputs. The exams are no surprise either, make sure you do the reading, especially the handouts and The Soul of a New Machine, and take good notes.

He is unclear as to what he wants in class and no matter what effort you put in, it doesn't matter. The books he assigns are so dry, which is okay, but his exams are ridiculous. He is not a lenient (or fair) grader at all! He is not helpful whatsoever. I was very disappointed.

Rate my professor won't let me put the legit class: Ethics in Engineering & Capstone. Places too much time on political banter. If Katz removed personal politics from class, he's the best NJIT prof. I still use concepts learned in class years later.

Despite the impression he gives in class (which is that he is a lenient grader) he is actually the toughest grader I've had in all my english/writing classes at NJIT. Both exams are essay writing and all the HW is essays. Don't take this class if you're not a great essay writer. If you do take it, make sure you get the Cornwell book, you need it

He's one of the most knowledgeable, honest scholars on Nazi Germany history, science and technological advancement and of course the most trusted source(my evaluation) in regard true facts and history Holocaust. He has witty and unique sense of humor. To be very honest any missing of his classes is loss in your side. One of the best Professor I had

Katz is awesome! Great guy, funny, and a good teacher in general. It is tough to be a Republican in his class though, as he has some very strong views in the political realm. Regardless, I would recommend him to everyone if his course fits in your schedule.

It is often difficult to secure the extra bit required for an A on his papers. Exams tend to be easier. He generally covers the material in the books in class, so in principle you could pass without the books. Remember that he means precisely what he says when assigning papers. Take notes.

He is a great professor who explains everything very well. As long as you take decent notes and show up to every class and actually pay attention it is very easy. You don't have to do the readings because he explains them so well. There is no homework or assignments just 3 tests. Very good teacher, very interesting class, and pretty easy.

You'll definitely be using your textbooks a lot in this class. Despite a lot of reading, Dr. Katz supplements his readings with lectures, so you'll get a bigger picture. There are a few papers you'll write, but overall, they're not bad because the professor will specify what he wants.

Great professor. He didn't teach the class in the traditional way that other ethics classes are taught and it made for some interesting in class discussions. He's a fair grader, but it's very important to hand in assignments when they are due. If you don't it could be a contributing factor to getting a C+ over a B. I'd recommend him to anyone.

The class itself was pretty interesting. You don't need to read the books if you attend class, which you will since it's mandatory. He is a pretty tough grader on papers and exams, and you have to argue your points a certain way or else it's wrong. He's definitely not the worst professor out there, but he's far from being the best.
