I was in one of the first classes she taught, if not the first one, back in the summer of 1977. She was very smart and was a good teacher and inspiring. It was a joy to be in her class.

Prof. Lyn is the reason I switched to finance major. Her lectures are clear and to the point. She is respectful and extremely responsive - all email communication got returned within 24 hours. I learned a lot from this class. You must pay attention though - if you want to slack, her class is not for you. Those who rated her so low - study well.

She is a very intelligent person & she is passionate to teach those who show up in classes & stay focus while she is teaching & finally go back home & do the assign question. For many people she sounds harsh, I call her straight forward person. What all I have learnt from his in this course would last with me forever. Pls do take this course.

Prof. Lyn is a hard teacher - she expects you to know finance even if you're not a finance major. However, she did respond promptly and with helpful hints when I emailed her. I did the examples and ALL of the reading (which i think was important) and was able to get an A.

What a waste. I am far from a finance concentrator, and she is keeping me that way. I learned nothing, and still know nothing. I basically am going to memorize as much as I can at the last minute, spew it onto the final, and pray. She is definitely a 2.0 and go professor. Just pray you don't fail and have to take her again.

Was a finance major until I took this class. Prof. reads straight from power point notes, I can do that on my own. She doesn't give enough examples similar to test questions and doesn't explain anything. She is condescending both in class and office hours. Very unprofessional. I'd like my money back.

Here is all I learned in FIN 203 this semester: Prof. Lyn is a blight on Hofstra and an insult to her profession. Her demeanor is condescending, her exams are sadistic, and her ability to teach is astoundingly inept. She is a bitter, vindictive person who clearly hates the students who are unlucky or unwise enough to have her. Avoid at all costs.

She teaches as if everyone is a finance expert, but its an intro class. In one day alone she covered 3 chapters. She goes way too fast, and never explains anything clearly. Gives way too much work. By far the hardest class. Makes QM 203 look like 1st grade.

Prof. Lyn doesn't teach -- she talks to herself for 2 hours and then gives absurd exams on what the class clearly did not learn. I hate to say it because she seems knowledgable, but Prof. Lyn should never be allowed near a classroom.

She's a nice teacher and very approachable when you need help but I just find it hard to go to her class and try to focus. There's a massive amount of material that she covered and it was just impossible to take them all in. Also, all her lectures are done with PPT and it makes the class very dull and boring. I didn't feel like a learned anything.

Take Rai - he is a much better Prof. All Lynn did was read her ppt slides and would not take the time to answer any questions. She is awful as a teacher. I did the homework and the papers and learned nothing - for the final she put the stuff she DIDNT teach in class, the your responsible for whats in the book thing. RUN!

OK, she is a tough grader and the class isnt exactly easy, but if you come to class you'll learn the material. I dont study at all, like ZERO, I got B's on the first 2 exams, studdied hardcore for the final, got a 100 and got an A in the course. So how hard can she be? She gives easy extra credit too. Shes not so bad, Im taking her for 110 too.
