A tough Professor, yes. A fair teacher, I thought so. A caring professional, definitely! I was in Ms. Burroughs class in 1999-2000. I learned an enormous ammount of information about English and Literature, which I've used throughout my life. I've passed along many of her teachings to my children and grandchildren. I loved her and miss her!!

This Professor was awesome! She's clear, concise and well educated in her topic of English and English Lit. If you want an informative and innovative instructor who will breathe life into literature, she's your girl! If you are looking for an easy A, or you are not serious, or fresh out of HS, then she's not for you. She's serious about English

Worst teacher I've had at mira costa. Not clear on explaining her assignments. Very picky of how she wants you to write. If you are stuck in her class and can't drop it, then concentrate on the essays and nothing else. She gave me a D, retook the class and got an A. Worst teacher at MCC by far.

worst teacher i have ever had in my life... the woman told me i was a great writer and she would love to have me in her 102 class,and that i was passing, and that i didn't need to come back to her class. then called me to tell me she was taking back my credit and that i didn't deserve it. she then discouraged me to even come to her final.

Awful. Assigned extra credit work writing in journal and checked it once early in the semester. The rest was a waste of time. If you must have this teacher, concentrate on the major essays. Everything else did not seem to matter.

Hard but very helpful teacher. She will work with you individually on your every paper. She will spend as long time as it needed.She helped me to develop good writing techniques and I learned a lot. This teacher is highly recommended.

Wishy washy. One day your essay is ok, the next it isn't acceptable, even after she checked it. You can't develop a writing style in this class. She practically dictates the words she wants you to use. You'll end up dropping this class out of frustration. You are not taught to write, your writing will be screened to suit her taste.

The amount of work required for this class was unrealistic and unreasonable. More than half of the class dropped out by semester's end. This instructor grades inconsistently and barely kept up with all the work she required. Anyone else would be a better choice. This class was a disservice to the students. Don't waste your time, effort, or tuition.

This is a hard class. However, I feel I learned a lot from Burroughs and would love to take her again. She is very helpful but you have to go to her for help. She is a very charismatic teacher and makes class interesting. I highly recomend her if you actually want to learn and not just get an easy A.
