Very easy class if you show up and take notes. Also if you make friends in class you should be good. Offers extra credit and the midterm and Final is easy if you study notes.

Amazing teacher!! Took intro to philosophy and environmental philosophy with him. Both super interesting and fun classes. Reading for each class then midterm and final. Takes attendance and he asks questions based on reading for grade. Not a hard class. Would definitely recommend both, especially environmental philosophy- that class blew my mind.

He is an odd person but really nice. His lectures can be confusing at times, but it is a philosophy course so that is some what to be expected. Make sure you read for each class because he calls on random people to answer the questions. I would take him again. Overall the class was easy. (Environmental Philosophy)

Had him for philosophy of the human person. He's extremely nice and really passionate about what he speaks on. He's a very awkward person and an odd speaker but if you can get passed that his class is rather nice. The Lectures are long but most of the time it's a big group discussion. Attendance is mandatory, you need to be there to pass.

Participation is answering a question at the beginning of class when he calls on you. He also allows extra credit that is only used to make-up absences.

The class is pretty easy. Mandatory attendance and he calls on you randomly, but if you read it's not hard. Take good notes - his midterm/final come straight from the notes (chooses 2 or 3 essay q's out of 9 he gives you). He can be confusing but just write down everything he writes and you'll understand later. Also he is very accessible and nice!

Making moral decisions was very textbook-based. You had to read and participate. He calls on random people and if you don't know the answer, he marks it down on your grade. Attendance is mandatory and an important part of your grade. The three tests come from a study guide questions. So take good notes to write small essays. Sounds hard but isn't.

This teacher is very enthusiastic about what he teaches, but he is very nervous and does not articulate ideas well at all. Also, he randomly calls on students to discuss certain topics and it is the most uncomfortable thing in the world. There has to be a better philosophy class out there!

Coolidge makes philosophy so easy to understand. He obviously loves the subject, and his lectures show it (plus, he can be really funny)! He assigns homework questions for the readings and gives page numbers, but if you read, you'll be fine. Exam questions come straight from the homework. He's super friendly, and I'd take him again in a heartbeat!

Coolidge is decent. His lectures are not at all engaging, it is easy some days to want to fall asleep in class. There is work though which could be a good or bad thing depending on if your a good test taker. For midterm and final, he gives you 6-9 sample questions then come test day will expect you to write 1 pg on each of the 3-5 that he selects.

Dr. Coolidge is kind of wierd, but he is a GREAT professor. He made philosophy interesting and always had an interesting example to show the class. You may be confused in class but once you read your notes it will make more sense. Make sure you take good notes because they are used on the midterm and final. HE WAS GREAT.

Coolidge is out there but still a pretty good professor. If Philosophy isn't your strong subject, his lectures will seem boring and confusing, but when you look back on your notes it makes more sense. He gives extra credit if you watch movies or go to presentations. The midterm and final are extremely managable. Take Coolidge.

Certainly not the worst teacher in the world, but frustrating at times. His midterms and finals are killer, unless you keep up with the extensive reading every night. The good thing is that he's passionate about what he teaches, so if you like philosophy then you'll love him. If not, you might find him hard to follow.

Dr. Coolidge is AWESOME! While what everyone else has said about attendance and participation is true, he provides ample opportunities for extra credit, so don't feel discouraged. Also, you'll WANT to come to class; he tells amusing stories and is very nice and helpful. I found some of the material we covered a bit out there, but it opened my eyes.

WEIRD GUY. he's not very helpful. tests arent too difficult. he gives you six possible test questions to study. he choses two on the day of the test. and you write a two page essay for each. he grades everything on the "FEEL" of it. He also calls on each person at least one time in the semester for your participation grade.

Nice guy. His notes and lectures made very little sense. Tends to over explain, but sometimes that doesn't make things any clearer. He had 2 tests all semester and they were essays (he gave a certain number of questions so you could prepare and then he'd only choose 2 or 3 of them). Overall, he's okay, but i probably won't take him again.
