If you're an attention to detail student and study vigorous for all your classes easy A. If you're a student that want good grade but you study here and there C. You have got to read because notes are helpful but he's very meticulous. A test nazi. You have got to be very specific and detailed or it's C- or worse period! Alot of failures.

I like him. He is a good teacher. Not easy but still good. He talks a lot. Make sure to stay in the middle if you go too far left or right he will mark you down. I went too far left.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Not a hard class if you pay attention get involved and put in work. HE GIVES YOU A STUDY GUIDE TELLING YOU WHATS ON THE TEST. People that dont get good grades just did not cover everything he asked for.

Really nice teacher but hard to understand since he has a strong accent. A little boring, but fell asleep a few times and he didn't say a word. He lectures a lot and asks a LOT of rhetorical questions which was annoying but overall he's pretty average.

Long boring lectures, participation only in the form of occasional comment, no discussions allowed. Not much work though- two tests and a paper give you 90% of the grade with two small written assignments the other 10%. Grading is tough. Take with caution.

Take this class. You will learn alot about this country than you do now. Lectures can be long, but ask questions and be involved. It will only be as exciting as you make it. Tests are essay style. Take notes and write your essays using what his thought process is and elaborate alot. Didnt use the book. Gives you study guides of what is on the tests

Great lecture style, enhances the readings. Be sure to read the assigned chapter before class to be prepared for possible quizzes. On research papers, be sure to include everything he requests in his topic notes. Kind of comical in his explanations. Very booming voice. Only drawback was the air conditioning issues all semester (rm 1059 at Chey).

Lectures can be very long, but needed for this class. He tries to make it exciting and makes jokes. His essay tests can be hard as to what he wants you to say about each topic. If you take notes from his lectures and study those notes, on the tests write exactly what you wrote from the lectures. Elaborate as much as possible, the more you write the

Worst teacher the I have ever had in my life! I also wrote a paper research paper & got a D on it when I had many people and professors read it and tell me how good it was. I had X's and stupid questions on the sides of the paper and my exams and the answers were there if read. Had one sided opinions. Said rude and hurtful comments to classmates.

HORRIBLE TEACHER! He is extremely boring and does not allow students opinions. He is very one sided and I WOULD NOT recommend taking him. My final paper was on illegal immigration and another Prof. read it and said it was an A and he gave me a D because he is hispanic! DO NOT TAKE HIM!

I took him over the summer in a 6 wk class. Someone else on here said he's arrogant & doesn't agree w/ anyone. TRUE. but that class isn't hard. He gives out a study guide for what's on the test. Copy what he writes on the board and you'll be fine. I got an A w/o really trying...

POL SCI is not a subject I would be interested in, but his lectures are very clear and put's complex concepts in laymans terms. It's not an easy A, but you do learn a LOT! I got a C+. I think I deserve at least a B-, but he is a tough grader. smart man though.

If you wanted to be graded on biases then this is the perfect class to attend. This professor does not agree with anyone, and he needs to find a different job. His understanding is limited and it is pointless to even think about taking this class.

Monkman is a lecture kind of guy. He will explain everything about the govt in layman terms so his lectures r not so boring. He only has 3 grades but if you do your work and study, you should get an A. I learned a lot in this class.
