Thick accent but very nice and caring. I would sit in the front as well, she talks very quiet because her voice is extremely high pitched.

Dr. Eckart is a wonderful German professor. She is a little unorganized and that makes it sometimes difficult to keep up with what exactly is due. However, she doesn't penalize for late work, and she is more than willing to help if you aren't understanding anything. She is a great professor who cares about her students and loves what she does.

Dr. Eckart is great! As a German she can actually teach you the language. just go to class most of the time and do the homework you'll get an A. She expects a lot of class participation, but if you don't know the answer you will not be penalized.

Comment:

I despise Dr. Eckart. Yes, her class is so easy it's just ridiculous, but if you actually want to LEARN Spanish, walk away. I got an A, but I learned absolutely nothing, and was therefore afraid to move on to Spanish II, which I would have liked to do. Also, she no longer lets you out of the final if you have perfect attendance. She didn't tell us that until the week before finals, or I totally would've skipped every day (except Mondays for quizzes) and done just as well.

I went to Vienna, Austria with Dr. Eckart for a UI300 class and was very disappointed. She was so unorganized and did not keep us updated on anything! Everyday the schedule changed and she even forgot to tell us when to exchange our money, so the first night we still had U.S. dollars. Unorganized and very, very frustrating.

Dr. Eckart is a very kind and bubbly lady. She is a clear and thorough teacher. She does get off topic a bit, and her voice is a little shrill, but if you can deal with that, she is wonderful. Her classes are also really easy, no brain-busters here.

She is great. If you go to class, know the vocabulary, and can write in sentances, you should be fine. Do all the homework and film reports, too. If you don't miss at all, you don't take the final. She actually goes over the list of people who don't have to take it at the end of the semester.

I was a little worried going into this class because I only had 1 year of Spanish, but I did fine. She can be a little hard to understand at times because of her accent. Her class is a little unorganized, but she's still a good teacher. Also, she must have recently changed things because I showed up everyday and still had to take the final.

Easy class, do the 10 sentence journals and complete rewrites for an A. Very lenient on tests. Also perfect attendance= no final. Homework every class period but very easy to complete. Accepts late work with no penalty. Great teacher.

VERY FAST PACED!!! I had 0 years of spanish before being in her class. I had a very difficult time! However other students who have had 2 to 4 years are doing alot better than me. I did terrable in her class! however she gives you the study guide which is the test..didnt help me. Show up to every class and u dont have to take the final!! Hard class

When you come to class be prepared to work the entire time. Her class is fairly easy and if you come everyday she wont give you the final. She is hilarious to listen to, but sometimes its hard to learn Spanish with a German accent.

Dr. Eckart is too fun! She is a little hard to understanding but she laughs and has a good time. I thought this class was very simple but I had had two years of Spanish in high school. I would take her again for another course. Plus, if you go to every class, you don't have to take a final and she gives study guides that are basically the test.

She is rude. She blew me off because I couldnt say my age in Spanish, we hadnt learned the number for my age yet. I was one of the older students in her class so I didnt know how to say it. She didnt ask me why I couldnt say it she just waved her hand at me dismissively and rolled her eyes and went on. I needed this class but lost myconfindencence.

You should take her just to hear her laugh. It's creepy, but hilarious. She grew up in Germany, you'll learn German if you want to. But you do have to work for it.

She's very hard to understand and doesn't seem to like helping students. Overall, her class is fairly easy. All the questions on the exams are given to you in a study guide. As long as you know those questions and some of the vocabulary, then the tests are easy.
