Great professor; he really knows his stuff and tried to keep it interesting for the non-majors as well. He's very easy to approach either with office hours or even email. He grades papers fairly hard, but if you ask him questions and show that you're working he'll reward that.

I have nothing but very nice things to say about Dr Dipple. He is intelligent, friendly and helpful. I had him for J-Term and even the 4 hour class was never boring with him. Canadians rock :D (As for the essays - if it has a clear and logical structure, you will score well, his requirements are clear.) Dipple is great!

Great and hilarious prof. I love history and Dipple made it even better for me. You will learn more about history than you ever have before. He absolutely LOVES essays though and is very critical on them so make sure you know your stuff for essay tests.

Comment:

Dipple was a fantastic teacher. I hate history, but I loved his class, and I wouldn't miss it even though it was at 8:30AM. He keeps it interesting and relevant, and there's a lot of Monty Python movies thrown in. The papers are epically tough, and I always got a B+ on each one, no matter how much effort I put in. But the class was worth it.

Definity a smart guy- awesome teacher. Lots of lecture, but fun and knows what he's talking about. If you study for tests, they shouldn't be hard, but BEWARE OF ESSAYS! He grades essays VERY hard, so work hard and don't be discouraged. If you don't understand something, he's always willing to help. A nice guy and really knows history.

He's an excellent prof. He'll challenge you, but in a really good way. Getting A's on papers is really really hard, but he's very fair. He's VERY approachable; make use of his office hours, you won't regret it. He'll give you the benefit of the doubt on finals, as well...if you're tottering on A/A- or something like that he'll reward effort.
